Has anyone ever seen or even played an "Adult only" Game?

Only if you count GTA: San Andreas. I mean, it was rated AO for a short time and I have seen it and played it, so yeah.

Other than that one, nope, I haven't seen one. I wish we would though. Not because I'm particularly interested in the kind of content that would get an AO rating, but because it's stupid that we have an entire rating that basically equals a banned game because consoles won't play them and stores won't sell them.

Then again on the flip side, if it could be used and games with that content were out there (like that stuff they cut from Manhunt 2) it would just give the game-blamers even more ammo. So it's a bit of a wash I guess.

There are certain sites that sell games that are for adult only...
I may have accidentally bought the wrong game, while trying to find a good one...
And by "Good one", I mean a normal game, not an adult only game >.>
That is what happens when sites don't set a clear line between categories of games...

Liberal piracy laws have made it possible for me to try out hundreds of these, especially from Japan.

There are many games in the UK that are deemed adult only.

The problem is that Mummy or Daddy buy these games for their children.

I have watched the sales rep in Game on multiple occassions explain what the game has in it and on several occassions I have stepped in and supported him but to no avail, and I quote "its a game, how bad can it be".

When I have pointed out that the censors have said 18 and would you let you 9 year old son watch a horror movie, the answer is NO, but a 18 cert game is ok they say yes, I shake my head in confusion.

These are the same people who cry games cause maladjusted children, hold on you are the same people who buy the games.

If something has an 18 cert it has it for a reason..

But I am talking to the converted here, bar the kids who use Mummies credit card for the internet.

This one here comes to mind:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singles:_Flirt_Up_Your_Life

I remember this because it has kind of a funny backstory: Essentially, this was a pretty lame "The Sims" ripoff which concentrated on young, twenty-ish adults and especially their love life. I think the reason it stood out was that you could see them go naked sometime and they could actually hook up, but this was very tame, nothing pornographic or so. I think the sex part was never explicitly shown, more like the "under the blanket" style of later Sims games and actually kind of silly, if I remember correctly.

However, that game to this day is adult only in the States, which I found somewhat odd, as again, the games actually was not very explicit. But the really ironic part is that the game was developed and published in Germany, which has a well known reputation for its strict video game ratings and altered low-violence versions specifically for Germany, if you may remember. Well, in Germany, that game got a simple rating of "ages 16 and up" and was freely available at retailers everywhere :)

Hmm. I don't know... would that be 18+ rated games around here? In that case The Witcher. And the Fallout games, I think. Maybe Dragon Age as well, i'd have to check.

No, I have not. Mostly because no game that has been rated AO has been of interest to me. If it is a pornographic game, I'd be better served just watching porn and skipping the pretense. I cannot recall a game that was rated AO on the merit of violence alone however so I cannot comment on those.

Huh, looks like I've only got one currently installed on my computer - Hitozuma Hime Club - Secret Wives' Club
My god that one was far to easy. I prefer the stuff created by Crowd sure all the girls look the same but at least the stories are mostly fun(and if you really terrible at choicing paths you can end up with seeing absolutely nothing)

Heh, well it's not a game you get for the challenge. It's pretty much straight up porn in Visual Novel format. It's nice to have a game to fall back on that requires virtually no thinking whatsoever.

True , can not be said about "Same heart" you need a complete walkthrough to get the best endings (that game is more frustrating then most old school adventure games i played).
