Has anyone met some famous people in REAL LIFE?

Only famous person I can think of meeting (and not just seeing in passing or in concert but actually saying something to) was Duff McKagan, former Bassist and founder of Guns n' Roses. Also the guy that Duff Beer from the Simpsons is named after.
I've met a good few Irish celebrities too, but its not that hard to become a celebrity in a country were everybody knows everybody anyway, but I don't think I've met very many that would be big outside the country...

I've met Anthony Neilson (a very critically acclaimed play writer) but I'm not sure that counts...
Willie Randolph (former Yankees second baseman and captain). His parents live about a mile from where I grew up (in Holly Hill, SC), and I spent a good bit of time around them. So I met him a few times. He hooked me up with tickets right behind home plate.
Brett Gardner (current Yankees left fielder). He's from Holly Hill, and is only four years older than me. Graduated with my sister in a small private school, and I think they went to prom together or something. I didn't know him too well since I didn't hang around people in grades higher than mine much. I did throw a ball around with him a few times, though. Had we been one year less apart, we would have played varsity baseball together.
Annie Clark (of the band St Vincent). Met her after a concert here in Charleston.

Bill Murray
He has a home here and is part owner of the minor league baseball team, The Riverdogs. I think everyone who lives here long enough meets him. My roommate actually met him in college while working the Go-Karts at an amusement park here. But I met him during a Riverdogs game. Not surprising, as I go to lots of those.

A couple musicians. Branford Marsalis, Rufus Reid, John Longstreth (drummer of Origin) and I got to jam with Stuart Heinrich (played with Lou Reed) when I was in high school.

Casually passed Natalie Bassingthwaighte on the street in Melbourne once. I don't know to what extent a celebrity extends to but I had a really great 1 to 1 talk with Erik Wolpaw (Writer for Portal 2) at GDC this year.
I got some books signed by Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett. Didn't get to say anything except thanks to them though.

I've met Patrick Stewart, but he's the chancellor of my University so it's not a big deal here. In fact, I almost shoulder-barged him to the ground while trying to catch up with a friend in the student pub. Christ, that was a jarring moment.
That said the man will soon be handing me a degree, which is going to be surreal. Especially because I feel like an Xman already...

I've shaken hands with HRH Prince Charles, HM King Hamad Bin Isa of Bahrain, a few politicians, two Lords, some renowned professors, David Seaman, David Ginola, Tom Jones, Simon Reeve (documentary maker currently on iPlayer), some famous authors, one guy whose name I can't mention and my personal hero, Charlton Heston. I may thoroughly disagree with his attitude toward guns, but he was (still is) my favourite actor and I got a chance to meet him a decade ago 
Now if only I could shake hands with Arnie, my life would be complete.
