Has anyone noticed that Adam Sandler does and is the same thing in all his movies?

That's like complaining about your favorite music band - "ah man, he played the SAME kind of thing, dang"

Sandler sells a brand - and by now, I would hope we all know what to expect from his movies. (Same with Bruce Willis, Will Smith, and a thousand other highly paid actors.)

Same as Hugh Grant and (somewhat) Tom Cruise, they just play the same person in every single film they're in.

it's been a while since he got in my blacklist actors, along with Nicolas Cage...
Is that the guy that played John Conor in Terminator Salvation and got into a fight with one of the camera men?

What about Reign Over Me? That movie hardly conforms to any of the standards you layed out there.
Didnt see that one sorry
No need to apologize. I'd highly recommend seeing it - it's with Don Cheadle, and Adam Sandler demonstrates that he's got a lot more range as an actor than people give him credit for.

I love that movie. It really tugs at your heart strings.

Yes, as do Jim Carey & Robin Williams. If you've seen one of their movies, you've seen all of them.
what about 23 by Jim Carey that movie wasnt funny... or least it tried not to be funny.
Comedy actors can't pull off noncomedy, except Williams because he was never funny.

Robin Williams has also had a break-out role or two... One Hour Photo among 'em.

But anyway, Adam Sandler is a man-child who makes money off of acting out the fantasies of other man-children. He wrote for Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Eight Crazy Nights, Zohan, and Grown Ups, plus was the exec producer / producer for Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, Eight Crazy Nights, Anger Management, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, Click, Chuck and Larry, Zohan, Grown Ups, Zookeeper, and Bedtime Stories. It's not surprising, then, that he casts himself as generally an underdog loser who comes out on top despite horrible behavior. That Punchdrunk Love doesn't fully align with his m. o. is because it was written, directed, and produced by others. Same for Reign.

Imo, Robin Williams is funny when he's not doing family films. But considering that's all he does these days...yeah. His stand-up isnt horrible though.

While I do agree with you about your list, in the beginning, I really enjoyed his movies. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and The Water Boy were, in my opinion, pretty funny. But, three very similar movies, and it started to get a little stale. Enter Mr. Deeds, and it was all downhill after that for Adam Sandler (at least comedy-wise).

Not necessarily true; Robin Williams for one plays a psychotic killer just as well as a funnyman. (i.e. 60 minute photo)

I can agree with most of this, though I found "I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry" to be pretty funny. "Anger Management" too, though that was more because of Nicholson.

Considering that in my opinion his only competition in the "Worst actor alive" category is Keanu Reeves, yeah.
Have you seen Troll 2 or House of Blood (or any other bad horror movie ever made) I think there is someone there who deserves the prize more than some guy who's just not funny.

btw, my theory it that there is a guide that comes with Adam Sandlers contract to make sure he gets to make the same movie over and over.
