Isn't that the one game I keep hearing about with an entire race that look like ten year old girls in their underwear?

Why yes i believe it is.

As for the game itself, i haven't actually seen much about it. Isn't it meant to be some sort of action mmo or am i making that up in my head?

I stopped playing MMOs a while back, i played FFXI and bloody loved it. Had to stop before endgame though.

The left one is the Korean version, the right is the "censored" U.S./EU version

Creepy scary paedo stuff.
Though to be honest I will probably try it when it goes F2P/ gets a trial. Might try Popori.

I used to play LotRO before it went F2P, I also played WoW and TOR for a while.
I can't play MMO's anymore nowadays, I get addicted for a week or two but then my attention span starts messing with me, I put the game down and keep telling myself "I'll play it later" But I never play it again.

I also find it hard to get into new MMO's because I don't know the lore or don't like it.
I know and love, LOTR, Star Wars and Warcraft lore. And other games just pale in comparison because of that.

I've heard of Tera but have no interest in playing it, since I dislike the art style and I'm not really interested in more fantasy MMOs. I play WoW and LOTRO and others don't measure up.

Fallen Earth, LOTRO, City of Heroes (occassionally), WoW (maybe a month a year and then I get sick of it again) There are others I'd like to try, if I had the time.

What do you love most?
Exploring the worlds and the size and depth of the games themselves.

and least about them?
Casualisation. WoW revamped the 1-60 game to make levelling quicker and easier and in doing so destroyed the part of the game I loved most. It's simply too easy now. Now LOTRO is about to revamp the Mines of Moria to make them easier - better lit, easier to navigate and with more safe zones. Because it's not like Moria was known for being a dark, dangerous maze that even Gandalf got lost in, right?

/sigh.

The problem being that unless an MMO is heavily instanced (and few are) there's no way to adjust the difficulty level, and increasingly it's being set to 'Can I Play, Daddy?' If anything kills my interest in MMOs it'll be this.

how is the end-game and does it keep you playing?
Endgame isn't a draw for me at all. Indeed, my initial fascination with CoH died almost overnight when I hit the level cap for the first time, and though I've went back since then it's just not the same anymore. Switching between MMOs and levelling at a snail's pace is my way of avoiding that happening again.

If you've watched anime, the loli stuff in Tera is pretty tame...

Either way, it's a) fantasy b) cartoony c) entertainment for adults. Pretty harmless, imho.

It is, but from what i've seen it's generally frowned upon to roll that character.

The armour for female human characters isn't much better, if you can even call it armour. I saw one video showing off female armour sets and decided I wouldn't buy this game because I honestly don't feel like supporting such blatant sexism.

Edit: As to what I play, currently The Old Republic, played LotRO and Champions Online and a few others before that. What keeps me playing? Role play really, it's quite the hobby of mine and thus, as long as there's good RP to find odds are I'll keep on playing.

Why yes, I've heard of Pedophilia Online. No, I don't intend to play it, I'm not a pedo.

It's not that it's becoming less maze-like, it's just becoming less retarded in its quest layout. I loves Moria because I love dwarves, but a lot of people hated it. It's still going to be a maze, it took me half an hour to find my way from the gates to the Dolven-view my first time in Moria, and I doubt that will change.

I hate that they're changing the lighting though... it's quite easy to increase your ambient lighting in the options if you needed to.

Oh, and the mob density was ridiculous at times. That's a good fix there, too.

10? You're being generous. I would say 8-9.

I'm playing it, its an excellent game and I love it.

The big problem is the aforementioned race of sexualised children that I cannot stand and many of the players who play them. The chats get so bad at primetimes when someone mentions them and the sh**storm starts again. Every few hours. And it goes on for like 30 minutes if you're lucky.. you get the people who poke fun, the people who make valid points about them and the people who attack and the weaboo's that rise up to defend them.

Its not hard to understand that just because a line in a book says 'they are 50 years old on average' or whatever that does not take away form the fact that they are blatantly sexualised children. It doesn't matter if you dress up your 9 year old in 'grown up' clothes and call her 'a big girl'. Its still freaking creepy and wrong.

They just don't get it. Apparently its ok as long as a line in a book says they're adults 'for their kind'. I'm surprised the censoring didn't go much further.

Popori are awesome. There's nothing quite as funny yet satisfying as destroying giant armored Orcs as a small cute fuzzball of bloody death. And since you're small you can use your small hitbox to your advantage in fights.

Anyway, this game is worth a go if to check out the combat. I'm unsure I can go back to a generic autoattack MMO. Nothing quite like melee in this game. Jumping in, slashing, seeing the enemy raising their weapon and jumping to one side to avoid the club as it crashes down in a jump and roll.. its just awesome. You can go for entire fights without taking any damage if you're playing something like a warrior if you're skilled.

Sure there are good minor changes that can be made, but comments like this from the developers don't reassure me at all:

"Moria stands in the way of a new character reaching our end-game content, and we want the 1-75 experience to go smoothly for new people as the game gets bigger."

It worries me when they start talking about parts of the game being an obstacle, and it sounds exactly like the thinking behind Cataclysm's streamlining. Improving the quest flow too often gives us situations where every quest objective is a one minute walk away from the quest giver, and so the world feels smaller and less like a world.

In a way, it is an obstacle. Part of the problem is that it used to be *the* end-game content, and was structured as such. There are 75 levels worth of content, much of it well-designed and quite fun to play through. The problem is that for the people who just want to rush through to endgame, difficult questing zones stand in their way. Personally, I'd rather see a few alternate zones added, accessible by VIPs or buyable as quest packs, that cover the 50-60 level range and the basics of LI progression. That way people that don't care about catching all of the epic story and just want to power through to the end will have an option. I just got my champ to 65 a few weeks ago, after skipping all but the intro area in Mirkwood. I went into Enedwaith underlevelled, loved it, and after I hit 64, moved into Dunland to get a taste of the area. I'm 67 now, and I'm going back to Mirkwood to do the epic books and some side questing. Turbine needs to be more flexible in their levelling structures like that. Maybe that's what the Moria revamp will do in the end, I don't know. I can't just look at the revamp though and call it casualization, I think they're just changing things up so it'll be easier for the players that just want to rush through it for easy XP. Which is about 80% of the player base.

This IS Tera Online, with the funny little creatures!

The Popori are fantastic, and should have just an MMO full of little angry rabbits wielding gigantic swords xD
