I personally have. I'm rather comfortable with my sexuality, and so I've only done it in an over the top, stereotypical manner to bother one of my friends who is rather homophobic. It's been years and it's still funny as hell everytime it works.

I do it really bad but it still comes off as creepy enough for the poor dude. I unleash teh gayness when he's beating me in a game, mostly a fighting game, in order to throw him off and beat his ass...wait, that came out wrong...

Basic cultural fact: Mexico is rather backwards in what concerns real LGBT issues so a guy like my friend is not hard to find. He is very catholic and once got sorely offended by Raptor Jesus(who went extinct for our sins), so you get the jist.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had done it for whatever reason.

Was playing an MMO as a female character before and someone random male person started to follow me about flirting and such. Rather than correct him that i was actually male, i went along with it for a while as i was bored and seemed fun to wind up the poor guy. So in a way although not directly gay i spose this counts

Not even to annoy someone? Jeez...
No. However don't necessarily go thinking that I hate gay people, they just make me uncomfortable. I respect and acknowledge their right to be homosexual, so long as I don't have to talk to them about it. I seriously doubt many would be particlularly interested in what goes on in my heterosexual mind.

I don't really care what people's sexual orientation, but sometimes I do act overly effiminite for laughs. I used to act a little (noticably, but not OH MAH GAH SO FABULOUS) effiminate a couple years ago to be noticed, cos I had confidence issues, etc.

Anyway yes, I do for laughs, so do quite a few people I know

I have; for some reason I give this gay vibe, I guess, friends say it's the clothes. Mainly at parties, I'm either too drunk to deny it, quote (I don't recall, but have been told) - "Are you questioning my homosexuality?" or will just go with it out of boredom, anger, or one of those involve a friend scenarios.

Oh! Here's an actual good reason, my friend's girlfriend was hitting on me to the point of "this has got to stop." They broke up when he found out that she cheated on him about five times, but he's back with that whore. I even told him of my incident, bleh, an awkward mess that was.

Just to suite the occasion, I'm the guy that makes and acts the gay joke.
It's actually very commonplace at where I work, and at school.
Also, online, I remain androgynous until the right moment. And record the outcome.

You're just like my friend, with the exception that his discourse is, pardon me for maybe I'm biased, way more badass: "I'm fine with them, they can get their rights or whatever, I don't really care what they do as long as they don't hit on me." Priceless.

Done it to annoy someone, and once to avoid someone who kept trying to get into my pants. She was that drunk girl who is at every party. She ended up falling asleep on my arm and whispered "If I do anything to you, it's because I'm drunk".

Taking the piss and pretending to be gay was hilarious though; two drunk girls saw me with a mate of mine who, like me, has dark wavy hair that is quite long. They instantly assumed we were brothers and when I corrected them they said we must be gay. They started making lots of sexual jokes, and when I said "Yeah, innuendo. I get it." they believe that an "innuendo" was a term for being gay. In-ur-end-oh, as they said.

HA! Once, to scare away these assholes who were harassing my friends and I. I went over and gave one this huge warm hug, and while I never explicitly pretended to be gay, he definitely thought I was. Asshole left and I never saw him again.

I don't get people that are so afraid of gays/ the prospect of being gay. Nothing wrong with it at all, I will definitely do it to someone I know if it bugged them.

I've worn a dress on stage at a gig once. Generally I only pretend to be gay to fend off unwanted admirer's... Cause that happens all the time obviously/once a year/once in my life :p

I pretended to be straight, but that was mostly denial. Most people tend to assume I am going out with my best friend, who is a guy, don't bother correcting them sometimes, just cause i'm lazy :p so I guess that is too.

For giggles I can act like a stereotypical homosexual. Talking like that ghoul from Apocalypse Lane while sitting with my legs crossed and doing the hand gesture and stuff.

And call your friends "girlfriend"

Edit: 1000 posts, shazaam! *awaits epic poster badge*

Unless homophobic or actually gay, what straight person HASN'T pretended to be gay for at least a second?

I'm straight, but I'm also the typical "gay friend" to all my really close friends, because I'm extremely secure in my sexuality so that it doesn't matter how I act, and I usually act out there enough that it usually gives people the curiosity of my orientation (for those who don't know me).

So I guess I'm not pretending, it's just my flamboyant personality that keeps people guessing. =P
