When an un-ignorable fad that doesn't appeal to you bleeds over into your personal interest circles, it's perfectly reasonable to get irritated until it recedes. Insulting or calling for repercussions on the fad's participants is just petulant whining, though.
And yeah, now that Undertale fans aren't forcing it into every conversation, I don't expect anyone will be so reactionary to your admission of liking it.
Trust me, my occasional choice of profile images alone has caused these confrontations a year ago, and I'm not even that fond of FNaF.
@ that last sentence: Heh, heh. Godspeed buddy. FNaF's got it pretty damn rough.

Since you brought it up though, I guess I might as well address that for a long time I've found it disappointing that that feeling is considered natural.
I made it through the Skyrim craze for that year without really caring, just thinking "Oh, that's neat. Looks like they're havin' fun."
Same with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Same with Portal (or any Valve game in the 00s)
Same with Dark Souls
Same with MLP before I got into it late.
Same with Kendrick Lamar (that's... more of an inner-hiphop thing, but trust me for a while you couldn't would 2 steps without his name being thrown into a rapcentric conversation)
Which is not to say that I haven't run into my fair share of annoying people or smug superiority from those that enjoyed these things ('specially Souls and Jojo's), but I mostly chalked that up to the people being jackasses, and not really representing the subject matter or the fanbase as a whole. Then again... like you, yeah I've been on the receiving end of some pretty harsh words due to liking some less-than-favored entertainment, so maybe that might have effected my outlook.
