Has there ever been a perfect game?

Nothing is really ever perfect. Even SMB3 and that Zelda game have flaws. Actually I hate the pair of those games. Probably because I've been playing them for 15 years!

Potshot at Ninty aside I don't think any game will ever be perfect, there will always be flaws.

There is no perfect game, for reasons that you said yourself. For me Uncharted 2 seems shallow, story - uninteresting, some characters - unlikable and i don't like platforming.
Nothing will ever be perfect.

A perfect game, in the sense that there wasn't anything wrong with it, technically, control-wise, gameplay-wise, story-wise, graphic-wise (perfect graphics are impossible anyway)...

Can't really think of one. There's the great games that have very few flaws, but all games have some sort of flaw.

Well, what constitutes a perfect game is completely subjective, so I'd have to say the perfect game is the first game you played and absolutely adored. No matter what comes after it, nothing's ever going to live up to the memory of that amazing game.

For me, it's Kingdom Hearts. I play through it at least once a year, and it still gives me chills. I never quite recaptured that sense of amazement and wonder I had when I played it for the very first time, but to me, it's still very much a perfect game.
This. The series captured me in ways I never thought a game would. Damn you Square! I'm ready for the third course! Honestly, for me, that game will never have faults, I have been conquered, and I am a fanboy.

If there was a perfect game, IMHO i'd be playing it. A perfect game is a game in which you'd constantly go back to, it'd always feel fresh and addictive. The nearest game I play is World of Warcraft but mostly cuz i think Blizzard drug you when you play, also WoW isn't perfect as theres a lot of grinding in the Vanilla areas, plus it'd be a matter of taste and opinion

No there hasn't because the second it comes out another game uses the same system and improves something of it.
There can be personally perfect games though. I think Morrowind is a perfect game and is an all time favourite but others get bogged down by the dice roll weapon connect and outdated graphics.

Psychonauts, Portal, Bioshock, FFVII, Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Half-Life 2, Kingdom Hearts (my absolute most cherished game), Super Mario Galaxy/64, any of the brilliant Ratchet and Clank/Jak and Daxter games.

There are a lot of perfect games out there, it's just that we don't have the guts to say they are.

You could say: "Oh, it's too difficult!" But I will respond with a swift kick in the ass. Old school difficulty is nothing to be afraid of.

All who disagree with me will face the wrath of fingers in my ears while I scream "LA LA LA LA LA!" to drown out the noises.

*Fingers at the ready*
Just fuckin' try me.
wait, you say old school difficulty, but i remember correctly... mother 2 was easyer and older. And more fun. Im not ragging you or telling you what you think old school difficulty is, im just getting out my anger that i cant get past that one level with the castle with duster. But i have to say the rest of the game is very good, even though mother 2 was better
I'm talking old school difficulty in the sense that it, being a sequel to Mother 2, shares some of that difficulty. As I recall, Mother 2 was fairly difficult as well.

But on it's own merit, the game is pretty tough. If you don't grind at all through out the game, you're pretty much going to be screwed for a good few hours at a later date. And even if you have, some of the bosses can be ball breaking in comparison to others of the same genre.
[sub]And let me just say this right now: I fucking LOVED Mother 2.[/sub]
