Hey you knew it was coming. And no there has never been a perfect game. If there was well then we would all agree it was perfect.

This is what i mean, one persons favourites and not another's.
Surely that means that no game can be perfect, because everyone would have to like them.
Yes, i also stated that i don't believe there ever will be a perfect game. I just wondered what other people thought.

A game will always have niggles for some people - Although a game can be perfect from one persons's perspective.

As for me, I don't know at all.......my interest ranges and changes day to day :)

The game may seem perfect at the time but as the years go on you figure out that they really aren't as good as they seemed. I came to this realisation after buying Twilight Princess. I decided to play through all the Zelda games I have. I could see that the games were getting better each time (apart from the hand-held games). And three years after the release of TP I can find problems with it.

And this isn't a bad thing, if we make a perfect game and then everything after that seem lacking or out right boring would be a terrible thing. I for one am glad that we are still able to top games from our past and I hope we can still top games in the future.

too much like Ratchet and Clank, in my humble opinion

OT: I'd say Evil Genius

What it lacked in sheen it made for in soul, character and beauty (not graphics, you half wit)

I love that game with all my heart

No because Socrates said so.

I don't even personally believe you can quantify the quality of games in the way review scores do, let alone say that something is absolutely perfect. There are really really good games, most of which people are listing in this thread, but to reach an optimal point of goodness is illogical and impossible.

Fair enough. Also, I never mentioned it, but my near perfect game would be ratchet and clank 2.

Seriously, it's a 3 plus, not the most advanced, but really fun, and an insane amount of replay value for all the guns.

I must have played through at least 900,000,000 times[/exaggeration]

I wouldn't call it perfect, but the first game that springs to mind that has really no flaws at all as far as I'm concerned is U.N Squadron for the SNES.

Best shoot em up ever made to this day!

I would say RE4 but it loses some of it's fun value after you play it 5 or 6 times.

So I would have to say Star wars battlefront II because I can't think of anything else right now.

For me, it's Kingdom Hearts. I play through it at least once a year, and it still gives me chills. I never quite recaptured that sense of amazement and wonder I had when I played it for the very first time, but to me, it's still very much a perfect game.
Couldn't agree more man. Just got through my fourth playthough of KHII a while ago.

Bring on Birth by Sleep ^_^.
