It has for me.

Edit: It took a few MINUTES to post this topic. It just sat there waiting while my cursor spun around. Hopefully this edit won't take as long.

Another question, do you post less because it takes so long to load?

Its very slow compared. But I think its because they didnt get all the servers running the new layout fully configured yet. so we are running on the new servers the new layout was setup and built on and the old ones are now being updated and upgraded. so we are running with less servers wich is causing the lag.

Yes, quite noticably. It used to take a second or two to load a forum page, now it's 5-10 seconds at least. It gets even worse during peak hours (wednesday when ZP and FD come out is a good example), when it can take 30+ seconds to load a page.

And that's in addition to the fact that the redesign made it harder to get to the news articles and pretty much anything I'm interested in. It also looks terrible, especially compared to the old look. When I first saw it I thought the page didn't load properly or got screwed up somehow (an assumption that was supported by the slow loading of the page). Maybe my Flash is out of date or something. But no, it turned out that it's the way it's supposed to look.

I understand a lot of people put in a lot of work to do this, but it still sucks. Sucks balls. Sweaty buffalo balls...

That's funny because I thought the page loaded wrong too the first time I saw the new layout. The new layout has grown on me a little but I gotta say that I prefer the darker blue rather than the blinding lighter blue we have now.

It's ridiculously slow. I have actually hit the post button, gone to the bathroom and come back and have still had to wait.

I don't either. There have been slowdown problems for months but instead of working on speeding up the site, they work on redesigning it and now it's the slowest it's ever been. Oh well, plenty of other gaming sites out there.

To me this only happen in the evenning which is right now and I assuming in the US it's around 4pm? (it's now 9pm over here as I type this.) Before that it's usually fine.

Its fine for awhile, about the same speed it has always been but it frequently stops loading pages completely and I have to wait a minute or two before It will load pages again. Infact it did that as I posted this.

Yup. And I constantly get "Problem Loading Page" errors on the Escapist, then I leave to go to another site and the pages load in 1-2 seconds.

It's bloody awful, verging on unusable at times.

Oh good, it's not just me then. It takes almost 20 seconds to post anything, and around 10 seconds to navigate between pages.

In the official redesign thread it was posted that the slowdown is due to kinks in the redesign, which I can forgive, they should (hopefully) go away with time.
