It's been going downhill a bit and I think that's only natural, given that he has to churn out one of these a week now and no doubt it's all getting a little stale for him, firing up a console must feel a bit like punching a clock. The Torchlight review was a real low point, where he didn't even get basic fundamentals about the gameplay correct, showing that he's clearly just getting lazy. Even worse, when called out about it he was arrogant and self-justifying rather than humble.
I still like ZP - I like the fact that it exists, and that he's not afraid to say what he thinks, because in these days where reviews are often bought off and payola is rife, it's still a breath of fresh air. At least he HAS opinions, even if they're often stupid ones. Imagine a world where ZP didn't exist and instead we got extra episodes of Rebecca Mayes Muses and Game Dogs to fill the void [shudder]. For all his faults, we should be grateful Yahtzee still has the patience to continue to do what he does.
