I've always found that the whole Canada/ America thing can be relatable to our New Zealand/ Australia thing. Because we're so close it's just a bit of friendly competition, nothing too bad.
so would Australia be the US
and New Zealand would be Canada?

Americans pick on us Canadians because we are an easy target. We are the closest neighbours and many of them know very little and go on stereotypes. such as the country is a tundra,we live in igloos, like whale blubber, have our pet beavers and say eh. I don't know why they think only canadians say it because eh is an interjection which is asking a person if you agree with the statement i just said.
for those more knowledgeable with politics know that we had a liberal government for over 12 years straight, Some Americans see our country as what would happen if it was more liberal. Many see that as a bad thing.

also i think they are just jealous

Really? I always considered Canada to be that little (read as, freakin HUGE) kid on the playground that was always ignored.

I live in Canada and my only complaint is a really minor one, and it's that if you want to order something from the U.S. the shipping charges generally suck. (this applies mostly for board games.)

I make fun of the military sometimes, like saying "our military thinks forks are a valid replacement for Bayonets" but really, I've got nothing negative to say.

I love my country. It's a great place, very nice weather, people are nice, and Toronto's a hell of a fun place. Nearly all my american friends want to move up here.

Beacuse they are strange, that's why!

No, actually, I do not hate Canada. But then again, I am European, so I really have no reason to hate Canada. I actually once considered going to Canada when I "retire", but I love Europe too much.

Well, considering that just about 100% of Canadians make fun of the US on a regular basis, all's fair, right? But making fun of and hating something are two completely different concepts. I don't hate the US, I wouldn't mind living there someday (I live in Canada now), but I'm still gonna make fun of it. So it's probably just the same thing with Americans making fun of Canada. It's like a sibling that you love to torture.

Canada tried to take over the world via mind control!

Try typing in google search and you'll readily see that "canada mind control" is one of its top searches.

I've kidded around occasionally about Canada before. Silly things mostly South Park related. If I ever had any thoughts of my own on the matter I would probably say it's because Canada is so forgettable, or unremarkable. It's cold, the people say 'eh'. Is there more? Not that I've ever been aware of. Though after watching Micheal Moore's "Sicko" film I'm much more open to other western countries. The people from Canada seem a lot more relaxed, and living three years or more on average than we Americans isn't bad either.

Now that I think about it, the worst thing I've ever said Canada related had to involve this Canadian kid in our guild. Back then we had a stereotypical obnoxious 13-year-old join up. He quickly became the guild butt-monkey. He took everyone's crap pretty well, but don't you dare insult his country of origin. After one pretty messy wipe he caused I was quick to quote South Park. "I blame Canada. They're not even a real country anyway." He flipped out. It was pretty funny. I mean, you tell him he should tame a more idiot proof pet like a rock or a dead gerbil so he doesn't wipe us. He's fine with that. One quip about Canada, though? Berserk Button.
