Have a hard time being evil?

it's actually easy to be evil in infamous I let people have the food, I do tell the guy his wife is dead, and I save the doctors instead of trish but that last one doesn't count because I hated trish so much and even then I got infamous ranking pretty early because I drain the lives of fallen enemies when I got injured and I blew up the tanks to kill the garbage creature faster even though people are caught in the blast.

Anyway, whenever I start Fallout 3, I'm absolutely determined to man up and be evil or at least not be a big heroic pushover.

that is pretty hard though because all the best rewards come from taking the good path witch I thought was total bull crap if I kill that one ghoul douche I should be allowed to loot the ghoul mask off of him but no you have to make everyone get along to get the ghoul mask

spoiler then after a few days pass that stupid ghoul jerk kills everybody anyways, all that hard work down the drain so I tried killing him after I got the ghoul mask but when I got to tenpenny tower the ghouls body and head flew out of the wall and everyone still died in the end.

In some games, I have no problem whatsoever being evil. Fable 2 and the new Fallouts are games where I find being evil is just funny. I played Infamous as good, with the intention of playing through again as evil, but after completing it once I found myself too busy with other games to go back to. I enjoy being a dick in Mass Effect 1 and 2 as well, as it's hilarious to be incredibly rude to everyone.

The problem I have in those games is that the developers very rarely understand the difference between 'evil' and 'is an asshole'.
The evil option would be to secure your place in peoples hearts before making them do terrible things, or misleading people with promises which you inevitably crush. Being an asshole is more like threatening to hurt someone for smiling, and swearing every other line.
Games seem to go with the second one.

So can I be evil (despite being a nice guy in real life)? Yes I probably could.
Can I be an asshole? No, I really can't bring myself to.

I can't do it either. I never played renegade Mass Effect. I never played KOTOR as a Sith etc. It just didn't feel right. I think more games should have gray choices like The Witcher 2. You only chose paths and the situation unfolds mostly by itself in that game. Bioware moral choices are really too black and white.

When I played inFamous I did my first playthrough as a good guy, and my second playthrough as evil, to unlock all the powers and get all the trophies. It would have been nice to have some kind of middle ground, as the "good" and "evil" choices were a bit too extreme, but I must admit, inFamous is a damn good game.

I have no problem being evil at all. it a game that why I make different saves. Yet InFamous moral system was shit while Atlus' Law & Chaos system was pretty much perfect and make it a challenge to be neutral. while "good", "evil" have abroad appeal with both positive and negative points.

i mostly play evil,only time that i do something good is just for something more evil(in fallout 3 i saved megaton but enslaved the whole city)

I kinda thought this was just me. i tried to make an evil FO3 character but i just couldn't bring myself to arming the bomb. Mass effect was easier for me but i don't really see that as being evil. maybe selfish and A-hole-ish but not evil since at the end of the day im saving the galaxy but there were a moments where i couldn't bring myself to go full renegade on something. Though i followed most of the renegade path i didnt have enough points for samara's mission so i had to go default like a k-noob oh and in things arent really worth stealing unless i really really need some chinese assualt rifles to fix my xuanlong.
