Two times... i am on third playthrough now (all on hardcore, of course). Loaded up on mods now.

Game is good, but the ending is pretty weak. Can't top the Liberty Prime of Fallout 3.
I don't know. By the time I got to the end, victory was all but assured. Between Boone and I, I'm fairly certain we could have taken out the entire legion ourselves. Had Liberty Prime been there it would have simply been silly overkill. I mean, wearing a full suit of Remnant Power Armor with maxed gun skill, loads of implants, all the perks that increased my lethality with a rifle and the gobi campaign rifle (and AP ammo) meant there wasn't a Legionnaire that would shrug off a round much less the five I could spit out in a single VATS cycle. Even if a few of them got in close, my several hundred health was more than sufficient to absorb the few points of damage that leaked past my DT (40). Most of them weren't even armed with a weapon that could do more than 1 or 2 damage anyhow (the ballistic fist users being the notable exception). And Boone by end game (with an anti-material rifle and a few hundred hand load rounds) was literally a murder factory in his own right. As quickly as he could fire the rifle people tended to drop. If it were not for the fact that I did a lot of sneaking, I probably wouldn't have gotten many kills!

So I have. I wont spoil much but here is my own ending, written in your my own words. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Try to keep it short like, and written from your own characters perspective if they were giving a speech, or a press release etc etc...

"War, war never changes. This time it ends with me being the Alpha, the King, Commander, the guy with all the power. Once a simple courier, now I control New Vegas and the wasteland. It is all mine.. all mine i tell ya. Victory tastes sweet, the blood of mine enemy spilled across the wasteland. As I climb to the top of the bodies, and look over the wasteland, I cant help but wonder what is in store for me in the future. Can't say that I am worried. Ive got an army, and guns, some friends, Oh yeah did I mention I am in charge. I pushed back the NCR, defeated Caesar and his legion.. I win... "
When the game stoped letting me use VATS, i said fuck it and returned it.

Just finished the me as sole leader ending and thanks to a deadline I missed I might have finished it for the last time until I graduate.

I didn't mean it would be too easy (Well, it already was... Legat Blah-maskdude went down like a punk, for example)

I just mean it wasn't memorable, epic and AWESOME enough. I really didn't care about what was going on in that fight... the only thing which DID surprise me:

SPOILERS!!!

Is that Yes-man did upgrade himself. Implying that i will lose control over him (Even though it wasn't told me in the outro, weird.)

But in Fallout 3. It was a bombastic end, and fun to fight through. (Of course the whole: you have to die, even though it is easily avoidable) was pretty bad. But the way to that was awesome. (BETTER DEAD THAN RED...

)

I intend to, but over the last couple days I've gotten distracted by videos on the internet and trying to take care of the new TF2 achievements.

Yes I finished the game and made myself the ruler of The Strip. I kept failing "The House Always Wins, Part VI" for no good reason as I became quite infamous with the NCR but have no idea how.

Stupid piece of buggy shit.
You were working with Mr House.

The game tells you a few times that if you continue to work with House, the NCR will be hostile towards you. There should be a quest called 'Don't Tread On The Bear' in your PIPBOY, that is the indicator.

Which annoys me. I actually quite liked Boone and Veronica, even if Boone was a bit sulky. Then again, I probably would be too if I were in his shoes. Did anyone get an ending that gives us a clue what happens to either of them?
Veronica

is ousted from the Brotherhood and spends her life as a Scavenger

Boone

Pretty much the same, wanders around sulking

These endngs are different depending on how you dealt with them in-game.

I was underwhelmed by the ending. What is the point of becoming "ruler of the strip" for some cop out ending?

I loved the game though.

Strange that they weren't even mentioned in the ending cinematic. Boone was even my companion at the end of the game for gods sake. I didn't even talk to Cass or Lily again after finishing their respective quests and they were in my cinematic.

basically my ending meant that everyone was no better or worse. it seemed to fufill the fallout mantra of war, war never changes.

I did the NCR ending first, then decided I didn't like it so I reloaded and went with Wild Card. Still not perfect, but I think it's much better.

So how they hell is anyone supposed to complete "The House Always Wins, Part VI" if by the time you receive the quest, the NCR will have already become hostile towards you?

You can't ... that's kinda the whole vibe with the end of the game, you can't please everyone so you have to make choices as to where your allegiances lie.

Although if it happened too early, like it seems to have done in your game, it could be because your standing with the NCR wasn't high enough before you undertook the quest, therefore the infamy you gained had a more negative effect on them.

I had done about 20-25 NCR missions by the time all that stuff came along and was Idolised by them. So even after betraying them to Yes Man and implanting the device in thier forbidden base, they were still civil to me.

If you want to get more options for the end game, my advice is to seek out as many side quests as you can first and get everyone on your good side.

Just finished it this morning for the NCR. Actually, I can't remember whether or not I got the hardcore achievement (I went hardcore all the way, so I should).

Meh I decided to restart my game 2 reasons,

1. I like the begging more than the ending

2. my character sounded like a squirrel on helium
