Beat it on Hardcore with a regular guns spec guy. I had a high speech, lockpick and science which was cool because I could open anything and talk my way out of anything.

Starting a new game as a melee/unarmed chick, get a different ending and try to finish some of the quests I skipped last time.

What the heck is the reward for beating it on Hardcore? The Vault said all it did was let you turn Hardcore on and off at will in future games and that's incredibly lame.

So how they hell is anyone supposed to complete "The House Always Wins, Part VI" if by the time you receive the quest, the NCR will have already become hostile towards you?
You can't ... that's kinda the whole vibe with the end of the game, you can't please everyone so you have to make choices as to where your allegiances lie.

Although if it happened too early, like it seems to have done in your game, it could be because your standing with the NCR wasn't high enough before you undertook the quest, therefore the infamy you gained had a more negative effect on them.

I had done about 20-25 NCR missions by the time all that stuff came along and was Idolised by them. So even after betraying them to Yes Man and implanting the device in thier forbidden base, they were still civil to me.

If you want to get more options for the end game, my advice is to seek out as many side quests as you can first and get everyone on your good side.
Yeah, it's kinda strange that they didn't attack me at the substation when I was allied with Yes Man, but went kill crazy when I was with Mr. House.

Plus "The House Always Wins, Part VI" is a mission for Mr. House, so it doesn't make any sense that I should fail it for working with him.

Two times... i am on third playthrough now (all on hardcore, of course). Loaded up on mods now.

Game is good, but the ending is pretty weak. Can't top the Liberty Prime of Fallout 3.
Loved the anti-communism lines it kept spurting out

So I have. I wont spoil much but here is my own ending, written in your my own words. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Try to keep it short like, and written from your own characters perspective if they were giving a speech, or a press release etc etc...

"War, war never changes. This time it ends with me being the Alpha, the King, Commander, the guy with all the power. Once a simple courier, now I control New Vegas and the wasteland. It is all mine.. all mine i tell ya. Victory tastes sweet, the blood of mine enemy spilled across the wasteland. As I climb to the top of the bodies, and look over the wasteland, I cant help but wonder what is in store for me in the future. Can't say that I am worried. Ive got an army, and guns, some friends, Oh yeah did I mention I am in charge. I pushed back the NCR, defeated Caesar and his legion.. I win... "
How can you finish it. I hear its really glitchy

Quick question to those who finished the game!

Does the game 'end' after the last mission or, can you continue playing so as to finish up side-quests and just plain dick-around?

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense.

Did you, by any chance, go into Vault 11?

the sacrificial vault

Because there is a bug that makes you fail the House Always Wins by performing certain actions in the final room of that Vault.

Not yet, I'm put off doing the NCR 'save the President' quest. Can anyone tell me if the hoover dam battle occurs RIGHT after or if you can go away in between and do anything you want?

Unfortunately not. Quite quite a few games were released the past fortnight, so I've had to juggle them. I am pretty far in it however. Admittedly the bugs and the freezes haven't helped the lack of urgency to complete the game. Mind you Fable 3 is also buggy as hell too, especially in co-op.

I'm about 35 hours in, must have at least 25 quests done, and haven't even entered the Strip. I can't forsee myself being done with this game anytime soon, or until all quests finally force me into the strip.

Easy, I find to save often, and not to spoil much but since I have played all the F games, Ive used shortcuts to earn big experience. Lets just say my 3rd location I discovered was Freeside part of New Vegas. I find that if you play the game somewhat backwards there are less glitches. I am currently playing my 2nd playthrough on hardcore and doing things the way it was intended and its glitchey as all get out..

To be clear, you only receive that quest if you're on good terms with the NCR. You can't even be neutral, you have to be liked or better. House's plan at that point involves using the NCR, and using you to help them serves his ends. If you're not on good terms with them, you can't be used to help them out. So in the end it makes sense, and is not a bug. That's just the way it is.

Nah, I didn't visit Vault 11 but I find it stupid that you need to be on good terms with the NCR to complete "The House Always Wins, Part VI". I thought Mr. House had an arrangement with the NCR? I'm calling it a bug.

Nope. I played for a bit, but quit when Fable 3 came out so I could focus on that. I'm almost done with Fable 3, so I'll be going back to New Vegas soon. Hopefully the new patch won't make things worse. I'd been experiencing an increasing number of glitches, and I'm not looking forward to that.
