Have you ever been accused of cheating?

HL2DM, there's a map called dm_sniper, which is ALL ABOUT camping. I've gotten countless votebans, but I usually just cuss out the kids until they quit.

only by the retarded anti cheating programs. they always kick me off the server for some stupid reason. I have played FPS games where people cheat (invincibility anyone) where I shot them full of 3 frackin MP 40 clips close up. thats like nearly 100 bullets. then he turned around and shot me dead. I think anticheat programs are important in online gameplay but not if there going to throw you off just because you dont have the latest patch or have some random misplaced file in your game/main folder. I sure wish punkbuster would get their head out of their ass.

Of course. In Left 4 Dead and Red Alert 3...which is strange cause I'm not the best at RA3, at least not by the standards of the skilled players.

Left 4 Dead wasn't very specific. Someone on the opposing team just said "I'm convinced these guys are cheating" so I just said "no." Someone on my team once accused them of hacking yet didn't seem to understand even when I explained to him that he made noise and that bullets can go through walls.

Red Alert 3 I remember better. It was a 2v2 and was pretty close. I didn't have a great deal of defense but my opponent had many Apocalypse Tanks, which he kept sending at me in waves. I had a Chronosphere and continued to dump them in the water (he decided to attack every three minutes for some reason, conveniently the time for my Chronosphere to charge) and at the end when he finally ran out of cash and was overrun he said he was going to report me for cheating because I could always chrono all his Apocs into the water.

Dude, Apocs are fucking slow. If you bunch them up like that of course I'm going to be able to get them.

well, thats how anti-cheat programs work. they have set parameters and they look through the client side to make sure they are all in check. if anything is out of place, even if it may seem insignificant to the player, the anti-cheat program will send up a red flag. it is the same concept as an anti-virus program would look malicious software.

Game: GTA IV
Console: Xbox 360
Accusation: That I was using a modded controller
Reason: Because I somehow managed to kill them faster then they killed me by shooting them twice in the head

I've been accused of this so many times it caused me to stop playing altogether, started playing Left 4 Dead and CoD

I've moaned about War Rock a lot before, and I'll moan about it again.

War Rock. Simply winning/doing good in a match gets all the no-lifers flaming you like a *****. I once had someone ragequit a game because I captured a territory. Me & a dude on the other team were laughing about it. I wish you could add friends on that game.

Yeah, few times.....

But the best one was that my friend said that I am hacking while we were playing Call Of Duty 4 on 360 ......On a local game....... With his console(You brought some hacks with you, he said)

It's so funny to see/hear him play any game online. Everytime he dies, it's either

1)Lag
2)Cheats
3)His teammates fault
4)Game's fault(Bug...)

It's never, because he misses or anything, no. It's always someone else

halo 2 or 3 (cant remember), online team training thing (me and a friend teamed up)

we DOMINATED the round, which isnt difficult on the training part, and the little kids kept shouting "you guys are modding! you're hackers!"

it was funny, and i actually felt kinda good about it

Service: Xbox LIVE

Game: Grid

Reason: A guy who yelled at me the entire race for being "behind him and eating his dust" called me a cheater when he realised I had a lap advantage over him, and I was in fact one lap in front.

In MW2, I guy said that I was using a lag switch during S&D, but I just have a lousy connection. It was less annoying than rediculously funny, because the person obviously had no idea how the servers work on Xbox, despite being 10th Prestige (Booster).

Service: Battle.net
Game: Diablo II: Lord of Destruction

I was playing co-op with a guy, and we defeated a boss monster which did not drop a certain item type my partner apparently expected. His assumption: that I had, by nefarious means, gotten the item to drop directly into my inventory. The best part was when I showed him that the item type in question did, in fact, drop (I showed him where it was on the ground), and that he was welcome to it. But I was apparently still cheating somehow, because the item itself wasn't as good as he expected.

Service: Xbox Live (I think there's a trend here...)
Game: CoD:MW2
Reason: I have a disgustly fast trigger finger. I can unload an FAL with dead-accurate precision rather quickly. They accused me of using a modded controller. Needless to say, I lol'd...hard.

Oh yes. That was fun, since it was a slight glitch that made me unbeatable.

I used to play Guild Wars quite often, and my Dervish had the Melandru form, which gave him increased HP and a complete immunity to conditions like bleeding and poison. It was in a Player vs Player match, and somebody on the other team essentially killed me. Thing is, I didn't die, I just sat there at 1 HP, still attacking. I could still go around and perform as normal, but I couldn't heal or be hurt.

You could imagine the kind of flaming I got for that. And no, it wasn't intentional.

Several times. The one that has stuck with me is the time I was accused of hacking on Shogo. The game was ten years old at this point, and the people still hanging out on the dying servers had been there for a long time; I had been playing for a good six years myself. Well, I checked the server (there were never more than three servers active at a time) and saw that there were two people on it. I logged on and started playing.

The two guys on the server were absolute noobs -- they must have found a copy of the game lying around somewhere and decided to give it a spin. Shogo was a completely skill based game online, and the Lithtech engine that it ran on had some quirks that made it not match up to any other game, except for other Lithtech games on modded servers. Well, I completely raped the poor guys -- we're talking K/D ratios on the order of 25-0. It was made worse by the fact that they apparently thought camping was a good idea. On Shogo, the health totals were high enough that very few weapons one shotted a character, and the ones that did could be easily dodged; campers were sitting ducks. Anyway, one of them started accusing me of cheating.

I denied it -- because I definitely wasn't cheating -- but he wouldn't shut up. Well, there was a glitch in the community anti cheat; namely, if one zoomed in and out with the assault rifle or the sniper rifle really quickly, the anti-cheat would frag you, and give a warning about altered field of view settings. I did this a few times to mess with the kid. He promptly rage quitted, and I never saw him on the servers again. The guy who he was on with apologized in a later match.

The sad part is that I was only a mediocre player compared to the rest of the community.
