My dad used to smack me whenever I was really out of line. Now he just threatens to beat the living hell out of me and to kick me out.

My mother didn't, not physically anyway. For my brothers, now that's another story...

Not often and never hard, just when I acted like an idiot ( which was a lot) normally I was just put out [scary music] on the step [/scary music].

I'm glad my parents actually disciplined me though, I don't think the whole bare bottom spanking or belt shenanigans are a good idea, cause frankly they sound a bit.... wierd, but the odd smack for being an eejit is fine by me.

AKA, have you ever gotten your ass beat by your mother or father (or anyone else)? Do have a good beating story that you would like to share?

And for all the parents out there: If you don't already: Will you ever discipline your kids if they fall out of line?

As for me: The beating that sticks out in my mind was when I was like 12. I was doing math homework, and I was having a hard time doing it. So... i think i was getting a little fussy, and my mom gets mad. So she grabs a belt and gives the whole "i'll give you something to cry about" threats. But i don't give in. So she retaliates, striking me with metal belt buckle. the buckle connects at full velocity.
That sounds like child abuse to me. If I was having problems, my parents would sit me down, wait for me to calm down, and then help me with my problem.

OT: Yes they have when I was younger and being a little shit, they would give me a smack, however, they would never, use a belt or a switch, just the skin of their hand, but it hasn't affected me negatively. I also don't plan to have kids, but if I do, I will cross that bridge when I get to it, I can't say I have given any thought to it.

I got the Slipper ONCE.

I learned.

...Although i cant remember what i got it for, but im certain i deserved it. I was generally a good kid out of respect[/I].

Fear =/= Respect.

A good thing to point out - When you see kids running about in ASDA or Tesco, If i'd done that i wouldve got a slap, Not a punch, But a definate Chastising of some form. Kids that dont have that, go out of control. (although i cant prove that.)

EDIT: I remember this thread from a while ago, and someone said their friend was subject too "Petticoating" (going off memory there) - Which is dressing up the child in the clothing of the opposite sex & walking them through a public place. now THAT is child abuse. [/B]

That's odd, I had this conversation just today.

Erm I've been hit/smacked by my parents a few times but nothing serious. I was a good child.

But that's all I remember from that. Next thing I do remember was waking up in my bed. Apparently, she hit me so hard, I blacked out when I tried to distance myself from her.
How did your mother not end up in jail?
That's a serious question, by the way.
Well...
-The hit didn't leave a mark.
-I didn't make much noise when I got hit.
-I didn't tell anyone. I took it as a routine beating, so I didn't feel the need to.

Jesus. My mother would beat me in hot water, but damn, she isn't as crazy as that.
