If I had a 360, I would definately have bought Gears of War just beacuse of the commercial. It is just stunning. Back in 2004 when Half-Life 2 rolled I would definately would have bought that, if I weren't uninterested in FPS back then.

Well there was Dragon Quest VIII, but I was only made aware of it by the TV commercial; I bought it because I love Akira Toriyama's artwork.
I bought Final Fantasy VIII on the basis of the trailer, was the first FF I actually played and can't say I was unhappy with the decision.
I have to say that I've bought every pokemon game known to man just because of the adverts some of them were awesome others were good and the puzzle and dash games were downright diabolical
I bought Call of Duties 4 and WaW, and Fallout 3 because of TV ads. Haven't been disappointed since.
Not ordinarily. But having recently got my Elite, I chose the NFS:Shift deal due to the heavy advertising and that fact that most offers only had FIFA or frikkin' Halo:ODHD.

OT: Never bought a game because of an ad, because the few games that get TV ads here in Norway are big enough for me to already own them when the ads are aired. Yeah, the ads are normally very slow. Ads I really love though are the Halo 3 ones and both of the Gear of War ads. Beautiful work, even though they show no gameplay.
Ive never done that actualy. And mostly becouse the only goddamn TV Commercial for a game ive seen is Gears of Wars 2 and WET. And if you dont count those: It was years and years ago i saw a commercial about video games.
