It was a TV ad that brought Black to my attention. Of course, I didn't buy it ONLY because of that. I checked reviews, videos etc.

Never. Anyway, TV adverts of videogames are pretty rare in my country, and it's usually stuff like Motorstorm or GTA4 - you know, the ones everybody knows about already.

Australia doesn't show ads for games, and if they do, they will only do it a few times. The only ones I've seen on TV was a Red Faction: Guerrilla and Fallout 3 ad and they were both crap anyways.

I would like to simply state a resounding "No."

However, I cannot lie: Advertisements on TV are always a contributing indirect factor.

For example, it's not like I'm gonna go BUY the game because of an ad, but in the case of Mirror's Edge, where the advertisement showed ACTUAL GAMEPLAY, it interested me enough to look up the game, look up things about it, etc, do research about it because I found it interesting.

Did the commercial make me buy it? No. But it got me thinking about it to the point of interest and I ended up really liking what I saw in previews, purchased the game and truly enjoyed it.

Same with the ads I saw for Wolfenstein. They weren't really ads, per se, but rather articles in a magazine I frequently read, which, you know...made me interested.
