I'm tired of chasing my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're headed and meet up with them later.

And also depending on which day you ask me my dream is either to be a designer (pretty much there, sort of in a hiccup right now), or live in the mountains as a sort of unabomber (...almost there).

I wanted to write a book...and I did! Then I wanted to write two sequels...and I am! Then I wanted to buy a copy of Bioshock...so I will!

...yeah, I'm a pretty fortunate guy.

Have you ever tried to make one of your dreams come true? What was it? Did you succeed (if it is not still in progress)? And if you did acheive your dream, how did you feel at the end of it?

Right now I have a dream that I am working on, two in fact. First is finishing my novel The Stellar War, which is already 589, single-spaced pages and 14 chapters long.

Second is my airsoft team Squad 7 (Valkyria Chronicles Squad 7, not Naruto). So far we have 12 members (myself included), half of which are armed and 3/4 in uniform (multicam and tan boots). We already have had patches made:

Gallian Militia Patch

Squad 7 Patch.

We are still trying to get Gallian flag patches made as well as the flag itself. We have a possible sponsor with a big name company, and have already created Unit Class Designations. There is much work to be done before we are a functioning team, however I am proud of what we have done already.
I applaud your Squad 7 airsoft team. Too bad you can't use tanks.

On topic, I've never tried to chase my dreams.

Open fields like Lennox allow people to bring their own "Koramorian" tanks (PVC pipes covered by canvas), however there are a few people who actually will make their own tanks from cars or something like that. We are actually laying down plans to build our own Edelweiss from scratch by the end of the year.

Fool! That cookie could have transported you through time and space with Catherine Tate by your side! Now what shall The Doctor use to defeat the Daleks? I hope your happy.
Oh as if! Why was I not forewarned! No time and space travel for me then :(

But still, I'd rather not have Catherine Tate by my side. She scares me quite frankly.
Its her or Billie Piper. Now which of those two options scares you the most now?

Or you can have option 3....
Well that all depends what option 3 is...?
John Barrowman. Quite frankly I reckon he'd be a good laugh.
I am so proud of all of you
Thanks? Also about that Airsoft tank I don't know about a tank but I could probably whip up a design for an airsoft APC if you need one.

Well, I always try to chase them, but those pesky dreams just run too fast! Ill try laying some mouse traps and notify you if I actually catch any.
No mate what you need as any keen hunter, or Prince Philip, will tell you is a shotgun. Just rig it up a la Fallout 3 and watch them come to you.

Yes it is. In fact the last time I went to Lennox a group of people had cut a section of the roof out of a Ford Transit van and had welded chicken plates around the hole. The "APC" was called "Special Delivery", as it could ferry a large number of people around. WE plan on making a tank to "kill" things like this.

Well, that is a good idea. Problem is, I would rather if my dreams weren't dead because, you know, there is a hole in their stomach, or head.

The Doctor is not amused with you eating the TARDIS.
Yeah, he looks pretty narked off. But technically he's not the Doctor any more. There's that incredibly ugly fella that has no right being a time lord that's taking over... Sad times.

I have many dreams, just don't know which to choose, so I take my time with each. My first one, is to become a professional game reviewer. Now if I cock that one up, I can always go for my dream to be a programmer. And if that succeeds, I can try to get into the video game industry. So, basically I want to be in the video game industry. Also, I have a small unreachable dream to be a big musician.

My current dream is to get into professional gaming. Games have always been the only thing I really enjoy in life (as a hobby anyway), but I'm a terrible artist, and coding makes my brain wanna melt. So the only other option, it seems, is to just play the shit out of them. Might as well try and find a venue that pays for it.
Learn how to write better than everyone else, become extremely cynical, and start reviewing games. That's one way to earn money on games.
Yeah, but then I'd just be branded as a Yahtzee Clone, much like MovieBob has already been dubbed.

PVC pipes way would be easier, and then you can just use superglue or something and then put a peice of wood across the interior, drill holes and wrap wire around it to hold it tight.. Making some slots would also be easy.

There would be a propulsion problem though if you go about a custom built tank.

As long as there is air in my lungs, Squad 7 will never, ever bring a Koramorian tank onto a battlefield.

Our plans call for a dual-engined tank with a steel frame and either wood or steel plating. We plan for it to have a rotating turret that fires 40mm Sponge rockets, and for it to run on treads. We plan to make it look like the Edelweiss. We plan for it to dominate the battlefield like the Edelweiss. We plan for it to be THE Edelweiss. We do not settle for sub-standard in Squad 7, and we strive for the best of everyting.

Ah, so money isn't a problem. Nor is the mechanical tech you will need.

I haven't because I don't dream. I also don't tend to plan things out very far ahead so if anything I have ever wanted to do and/or achieve that I managed to do and/or achieve was done/achieved because it was going to anyways.

OP, if you need/want anyone to read your story for input, I'd be happy to do so.

Probably my only realistic (as in non-fucking strange) dream is to be an author. I'm working on that one. Writing and music are the only things that I'm good at and enjoy.

I have a number of dreams that I'd like to see become a reality:

Becoming an officer in the Marine Corps or Army (Well on my way for the Marines, officer school next summer)

Going as high as my skill and politics will allow in my chosen branch

Getting my doctorate in philosophy (Only a sophomore in college right now, but I'm well on my way and I'll need to spend the GI bill somehow)

After getting out, I want to either run for political office (It'd be cool to win, though I just would like to run and maybe draw some attention to issues we would be facing) or teach and maybe get tenure at a university

Run a marathon or complete and Iron Man (in Hawaii hopefully). I'm a big guy, so I have to be careful with the running. Need to keep my feet and joints strong and healthy.

Compete in strongman competitions

The last two are things, at my current training intensity, are no more the 2-3 years away. But I'm taking more responsibilty with my fraternity so I'm not entirely sure if that timetable will be accurate for much longer.

Yes, I've made one of my dreams come true. My Dream: To be a pilot and fly many different airplanes. Yes, I've suceeded and have a bunch of hours and have had oppurtunities to fly many different aircraft from a variety of types, makes and models.

Flying is like a drug. Nothing else compares. You're all alone free to do anything you want, with the sky literally as your limit. You get to make alot of new friends, and everyone you meet at an airport you immediately have somthing in common, flying.

Though, flying teaches you something else about yourself. Everytime you go up, you take your life in your own hands. Only you and you alone will get you through the flight. There aren't any second chances. Through the multitude of different emergencies I've encountered while airborne I've learned alot about myself. It's also made my life alot more enjoyable, Stephen Coonts put it best by saying, "A successfull pilot--which would be any pilot still alive--finds satisfaction in the smallest things."

But no pilot is perfect, though we like to think we are. Which puts us up to the question, "Is it worth the final crash?"

I whole heartedly believe it is.
