Have you ever dreamt you were playing a video game?

Well, I jut woke up an hour or so ago, and I just remembered the dream I had had.
I was playing Left 4 dead.
Not in it, but playing it. Sitting down on my bed, controller in hand, playing it.
I know some people think dreams have meaning, and the only meaning I can derive from this is that I play way to many games.(in the dream i finally got the man vs tank achievement. I was so happy I think it was almost a wet dream.)
So, have you ever dreamed that you were either playing a game, or watching a show/movie? If so, what? And why do you think you dreamed it?/Discuss

I've had dreams where I was playing Bioshock. I'm pretty sure I dreamed it because I played it constantly for about a week, I'd beat it and just restart the game over and over.

I have before, but it was never the game itself. It was like...the game characters and the gameplay was the same but it was some new setting that wasn't actually in the game. Or events happened in the game (in the dream) that didn't really.

Like when i dreamt i was playing zelda but in the Shadow of the Colossus world. i think i get your meaning.

Yeah, kind of like that! Or it could just be a totally made up setting, in my case. In one, I was playing a game called Haunting Ground in some mansion that I had never seen anywhere before in my life.

I actually dreamt I was playing God Of War III, which is weird, since I don't own a PS3 and GoW3 isn't out yet... must've watched too many videos on Gametrailers

I dremt I had beaten God of War 2's challenges withtitan ranking- I got a real FU when I realized I hadn't, because I just beat the game on titan mode and went to the challenges and can't get titan rank on the one where you kill the enemies in the air- just that one- and I hate it

Before Left 4 Dead came out, I had a very weird dream that I was inside the game. I mean, nothing happened in the game like it did in my dream and there was nothing telling me that it was Left 4 Dead, I just knew that it was somehow. It was... obscure.

I've had many dreams like that. I don't know why. I'm pretty addicted.

I dreamt of CoD4 like the last month. Even after MW2 came out it was CoD4.
But I didnt really do anything but play that before it came out.

I have confusing video-game related dreams. I usually start out playing them, but my perspective changes often sometimes I'm playing them through my eyes, sometimes I'm looking at myself playing them, sometimes I'm looking at the characters, sometimes I am the character(literally replacing them in the game). The thing is they don't only change from dream to dream but during the dream, so much so that if I remember them I have no idea what they were really about.

I've had this kind of dream more than playing the games themselves. xD But these are the ones that usually turn out to be really weird and make little to no sense.

I once dreamt I was playing Xenosaga II and I was stuck on the Patriarch. I later woke up and played the game only to find myself unable to beat the Patriarch again.

Ive had an opposite experence where i couldnt beat sephy on Kingdom hearts 2. Then in my dream(i have alot of these dreams, I keep a diary...) I came up with a combination to kill him. Woke up, turned on the game and viola. it worked.

I've had bad dreams about Borderlands where i keep dying and getting charged at the New-U stations. I hate those things and their expensive clones.

After all night Halo LAN parties, I often play the game in my sleep. I don't see myself playing or anything, my entire vision is the screen as it were, but I'm definitely in control.

Same thing happens with Smash Bros. Best dreams ever, really: I can play Smash Bros without actually using up the time!
