Rochelle. Technically playable, but I just harbor extreme resentment towards her...

That white dude from Red Dead Redemption. The one with the bowler hat that blackmails John. I wanted to blow his ass up instead of just shooting him.

The citizens of Stillwater in Saints Row 2. I shouldn't have to change my clothes every five seconds to keep these bastards from bitching about how bad I smell. Why are they even bringing it up, are they trying to anger the guy with an assload of weapons and regenerative powers?
I did have to laugh at one person who said "if you're such a crimelord, how come you only have one set of clothes?"
I don't change for anyone *****, now eat shotgun.
The only NPC's I have hated, are pretty much anyone I had to escort. Apart from that... Actually, Bastila from KOTOR is starting to get on my nerves...

There's a lot to hate in Dead Rising 2.

As Yahtzee says, the game doesn't seem to like you very much

WoW: The two kids running around Stormwind screaming about the girl's stupid doll. I haven't been in SW much since The Shattering, so I don't know if they are still there.

WoW: Quest-givers that upon completing a kill X of Y quest tell me "Ok, now go kill more, but this time grab item Z off of them." You couldn't have asked me the first freaking time?!?!

Ocarina of Time: Navi. Especially after the 4th or 5th time I beat the game.

Ocarina of Time: Princess Ruto. God she was annoying.

Hammer. Fable II. Seriously. SHUT UP ALREADY. You want to give me choice Lionhead? LET ME FREAKIN' KILL HAMMER.

Being as gullible as I am, I let Benny talk me into going into the presidential suite. He sent guards to kill me, ran away, and successfully escaped.
So I reloaded a save, and now have a save dedicated to killing Benny in multiple, horrific ways. My own sadism in this slightly scares me.

I know this is a bit off topic but TIDUS FROM FFX, it was horrible acting, the voice, the fake laughter and just the plain annoyance for about 190 hours...

But anyways, any NPC in which you were assigned to escort them to saftey, prime example, Ashley from RE4, she couldn't do a damn thing on her own.

Not to be nitpicky but several people are mentioning playable party members from rpgs which of course are NOT npcs.... But I suppose an annoying character is an annoying character, perhaps more so if you're stuck with them!

I'm surprised I haven't seen someone mention the STALKER series yet! The roaming npcs in those games were especially bad for getting in front of your gun and then turning on you as an enemy if you happened to hit them. Oh! And the guy that just says "come in STALKER, don't just stand there" over and over and over. Still love those games though...

Oh my God, yes! There are a lot of NPCs I've hated, but one more than the others.

COLIN MCCREEDY! That smug little bastard in Fallout 3. I have never before or since wished so much for the ability to kill children in a game. My serial killer Wanderer would have cannibalised his stupid face within five seconds of him opening his fat mouth if the game would have allowed it.

He wins because I can't kill him. Other NPCs who have pissed me off to that level, I usually got to kill at some point, or at least fuck with, or I could let them die, but him? No. Because he's a damn kid.
Very much this!

Also Algus from FFT. He was a classist bastard right to the end. Then after the ending I grew to hate Delita too.

I also find my self hating virtually every guard in any of the Assassin's Creed games. Oh, I walked too close so you have to shove me? *hidden blade into his gut* Yeah, I hate you too buddy.

Definitely Reaver from Fable II, the Molyneux-loved bastard. I haven't played Fable III yet, but I hear that he wins in there, too, no matter if you side with him or not. WHY?!?

The other day, I was playing Assassin's Creed II. I had pulled off an incredibly difficult assassination mission, and was trying to become anonymous. My notoriety was at 100%, so I figured I had to lower it. I blended into a crowd, and prepared to shoot a nearby...I don't know...the guys you can kill to lower your notoriety. And RIGHT as I fired, one of those FUCKING DOUCEBAGS with the tiny guitars got RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and took the bullet. The guards swarmed me, and my notoriety was none the better for it.

I think you have your answer.

Fettel from FEAR, he got to me so badly that I shot him in the head while in a vision, I expected nothing to happen, his hateful monologue to continue. I was somewhat shocked when the vision peeled away to reveal that I had actually shot Fettel in the head.
