Have you ever idly thought up a terrorist attack strategy?

Well, ys i have.

and i think it's something that most peoiple actually do, wether or not they admit it. I think it's inherent to huma nature to try to find ways to abuse or circumvent bans or forbidden acts.

Haven't you ever heard someone say "i could never kill another person...unless X" i think a lot of people think "if i had to break in/steal/terrorist attack place Y" then i'd do it like this. It's the imagination of the planner that limits the feasability of these.

And of course the impulse controll to talkt about, and the logical part of your brain that stops you from acting out them.

Without going into major details...bridges are a massive weak point in many parts of America. Take them out...and you could have massive chaos. Since they are not heavily guarded...you would not only kill a ton of people, but cause major chaos in the area as well.

As far as how to take them out...and when to do it so it causes the most damage...that is pretty easy to figure out. If I was in anti-terrorism bridges would be one of the hot spots I would be keeping an eye on. Our country is already having some problems with our transportation systems....it wouldn't take much to make those problems much more serious.

Go to a town near a nuclear reactor, and blow something up. Doesn't matter what, as long as people know it was on purpose. You don't have to hurt anyone, or damage much property. If you plant a bomb, doesn't matter if it doesn't, or couldn't go off.

The media will go into a frenzy about terrorists attacking nuclear reactors, how it's very easy to turn them into atomic bombs, and how we are all going to die or turn into mutants.

well if you look at it from an engeneerin standpoint terrorism is easy lol. XD *please fbi dont come all the way to the netherlands to grab me XD*

explosives area as easy to make as a cake, in many a shape or form.
diezel + fertalizer ( not telling which one )
or homebrew gunpowder ( the refined kind ) with painters putty ( makes a low grade of c4 really. ) ( not telling you how to make the right kind )

id have to agree wit hthe guy above with the bridges. hehe if you know how to make a shaped charge those bridges could be gone before you know it. just get the main support arches and stuts in the middle, possibly sabotage some cables here and there. do it on a really windy day for extra effect XD.

but for my country > (netherlands) you want to go after the dikes( not lesbians, things that stop water from flooding the lot of us ) those are WAY too bady guarded. stab a drainpipe full of explosives in, light LONGASS fuse, DRIVE AWAY AT HIGH SPEED

It's actually something of a daily reflex for me. I've taken many classes about how to think like a terrorist... good ol' US Army put me on the path to becoming a paranoid delusional.

It sort of presents the same problem as this:

No, I have totally not thought about the destruction of certain members of the US senate, don't spend hours looking into their windows at night with my hand hovering over the detonation button, and don' have a group that meets on Tuesdays and won't give you a free cup of coffee for every scalp from a Congressman you bring us.

First of all, Get several hundreds of bags of marbles.
Go to a convention building where lots of people are packed in(Bonus points if there's a meeting of VIPs). Preferably in a building with requiring stairs to enter.
Station my goons at every entrance(If I was stupid/cheap enough not to hire goons, develop some sort of remote control marble spilling device.)
Pull fire alarm/ cause an actual small fire/ cause a bomb scare/ Shout that there is a sale of free bacon at the store down the road/ whatever will cause mass evacuation.
Release marbles at all exits.
Watch the ensuing chaos while doing my best Joker impression.

Later, deflect all controversy and criticism by claiming it was an performance art and questioning the intelligence of the accuser.
Live a long, illustrious but controversial career as a performance art terrorist, amassing millions of dollars and modern art fans(who I can make into my goons because those morons will lap anything up if you pretend there is a some bullshit inner meaning if you think long and hard enough after several blows to the head)

Finally meet my end getting punched up by a confused batman

Edit- By the way, OP. When the feds bust down your doors, remember that you can get some mileage from the "it's for a book" excuse but it's still a gamble as to whether they'd believe you. In fact, just say it's for NaNoWriMo in a few months time, you can get away with much more then

I'm actually an undercover terrorist. But we realised we were all too stupid to come up with our own plan, so we decided to go onto a gaming news website, go onto the forums, and then wait until a thread was made about terrorist attacks to help us brainstorm ideas.

Praise Satan my plan has finally come to fruition.

well I'm probably already on some ASIO list for some of the things i have goggled, so what the heck.(I'm an Australian so screw you FBI)

my idea is to create a dirty bomb to contaminate an area upriver of the Murray or the darling river. this would then mean a large amount of farms in some of the more heavily populated states would no longer be able to user their main water supple in fear of spraying radio active material on their crops.

actual damage probably no very much other then an expensive clean up. amount of public panic and media fear. throw the roof

There was actually a book I read about this once, a guy thought up 9/11 on an IRC chat apparently, and the police and stuff were all after him in the book. Can't remember what it was called though...
