I did this with ocarina of time multiple times. I loved my Zelda days.
Though it did take me alot longer the first time, I eventually knew this game backwards.

Halo: CE on Legendary on a boring, slothful Saturday.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for GBA. I have yet to find someone who believes me but I had the game guide and I just couldn't stop. Ah, vacation... How I love thee...
(It took about twenty hours or so but I had played it before so I knew what I was doing. Never replayed a level!)

Can anyone ever do this to a final fantasy game? I mean really they take like 80 hours to finish
They'd need a lot of time on their hands and an IV drip of caffiene to acheive that...

Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: WaW (it's not that bad, guys) both kept me engaged for several hours each just lying in front of the TV.

I know I have with fighting games. In NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, I earned absolutely everything in two days. I can't remember which games I've beaten in one sitting, however.

Oh! All the Metal Slug games, and lots of the games in Taito Legends 2, as well as Castle Shikigami 2.

the fact that you played Halo 3 makes your comment irrelevant.
and yes i LOVED Assassin's Creed. i cant wait for AC 2 to come out.
maybe ur making an excuse cause you didnt UNDERSTAND the story.

It was kinda hard not to with "Army of Two", because before I was done ridiculing myself for buying such a homoerotic game, I had beaten it.

Also portal, and the other half-life episodes, but that was because they were to good to but down, and I had planned my days accordingly.

I did this with Final Fantasy IV(not sure if it counts tho, the cart was broke and wouldn't save) and PSX versions of FFI and II. I also did PSX FFVI on a dare with a friend for $50 lol. I actually think that was the quickest FFVI game i ever did too, barebone. 'twas about 22 hours if i remember right..

years ago i finished any game i got in one go. But now it takes two goes as there's always something that stops me from finishing it in one go. Most often it's my power shorting out for dumb reasons.

Dude... like, it wasn't a story, it was a failure to organise a piss up in a brewery! I mean, its one of the only games where i think it would have been better without a story!

oh, and im not a fanboy, i just dont care if a games a success or failure, i like playing halo cause its fun, you shoot stuff, its challenging, and yeah, basically a good game, although not god destroying, so please try not to get all uppity with me, or ill have to start ignoring you cause you like Assasins Creeds story, which you may have noticed, I am not doing yet.

Longest game I've ever accomplished the feat with was Final Fantasy VII, in 33 hours. I had to cut a lot of corners to do it that fast. I've also accomplished the feat with FF1, FF4, and FF6 (4 was the U.S. SNES FF2 release, which was far easier than the Japanese version found on the PS1.)

In each case it was a very long Mountain Dew-powered gaming session, and the last time I did it was in 1998, at age 21. I couldn't even think of doing something like that now. I tried with Rome: Total War over Labor Day Weekend 2006 and came up well short of completing the Imperial Campaign in that span.

I only finished shorter games in one sitting, and they're all games that any gamer can finish in a reasonable amount of time. Portal is definitely one (3 hours). Call of Duty 4 is another (5 hours?). Spyro the Dragon 2: Ripto's Rage took me from morning 'till night. Postal 2 is also fairly short (if you do only what's necessary, you can beat the game in less than 2 hours).

Of course, when you say "finish" a game, I assume you mean play until the credits roll. Playing a game through to 100% and seeing everything the game has to offer takes significantly longer.
