Have you ever just finished a game from start to finish in one sitting?

Tons of them. The whole Halo trilogy, COD4, COD:W@W, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Portal, and god knows how many others.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. It was a really good example of what the PS3 could do, and I couldn't stop myself from playing all the way through

COD: WaW and mirrors edge, which was great because Electronics Boutique have this wonderful 7 day return policy, handy since they were both festering piles of trash.

Also both the new R6's and HALO3... They however did not suck as hard.

If this ever does happen then two things must be going on: either A) the game was not good or long enough to be a fairly good game or B) you have a horrible case of insomnia and need to contact your doctor right away.
LOL!

Phantasy Star IV. This was a Genesis game that I rented for 24 hours and the save file was on the cart so I had to finish before returning it so I played for about 20 hours to finish the whole thing.

Let's see....The Darkness and Gears 1. Starcraft as well but I used all the cheats for that one; but hey it is pretty fun to storm into an enemy base with a fleet of battlecrusiers that would make the Galatic Empire jealous

Probably dozens but the only ones I remember are:

Command and Conquer 1 (GDI campaign) between 9pm New Years Eve and 8am New Years Day (I was about twelve, no party for me)
and
Zelda on the Gameboy, just because I played it through so many times I could do it in one sitting in a car across France with my parents. Thinking about it I probably did the same with Donkey Kong on the Gameboy too.

Star Fox 64 doesn't count because you can't save, and have to go in one sitting. (My record is 25 minutes across the top. (the hardest route)
How did you do Halo 2 in one sitting? It took me a whole weekend and some of Monday playing co-op with my brother.

I suppose if you play in easy you could do it but there was like 3 hours of cut scenes!

I tend to stop myself from doing that, so I can go back and enjoy the game later.
Exactly what I do. However sometimes I can't help myself. Examples being: Halo 3 (which ended a lot faster then I expected), Ninja Gaiden 2 (because I just loved it and knew I'd play multiple times just because I love that type of gameplay) and Portal because it was both brilliant but painfully short.

Hey don't go all uppity on my insomnia. It helps for things like work and stuff.

Back on topic. I don't do that with games anymore because I enjoy playing it at intervals and alternating games.

I got Indigo Prophesy for 10 dollers along with another game at a thrift store. I wasent expecting much for 10 dollers for both but I tryed it right as I got home.

It was a short story and had terrible camera choice, but for some reason I got so sucked in! I only played for about 5-6 hours before completing it. GREAT GAME NON THE LESS!

I've done this, but the ones I've done lately I'm not proud of. It's usually a sign that I have too much free time on my hands. The last game I remember doing that with was Bully... 35 straight hours. I was unemployed and was in a drunken haze part of the time, but I got all the way to the final mission where you're climbing up the school building, and a glitch got me stuck. By that point I was so tired, depressed, and hung over that I yanked the disc out and chucked it across the room. Surprisingly, I took it back within 48 hours of buying it and complained that the disc was damaged in the box, so I got credit back and bought something else. I've since decided that a man in his 30's is not meant to pull off that kind of shit anymore.

I did this a lot more in my youth when I rented more. I beat the original Jak & Daxter in one 9 hour sitting, including the 100% ending. I remember the old Jurassic Park game for the SNES... I beat that in one sitting purely by necessity, because the goddamn game didn't have a save feature. I've beaten Max Payne 1 and 2 in one sitting... not together, just one at a time. I nearly beat Mass Effect on the PC in one sitting, but by the time I got to the last mission I wasn't motivated to finish. I've played many games of the many versions of Civilization in one sitting... One More Turn...

Really nowadays I'm not inclined to try anymore... it's not a badge I wear on my shoulder. Lately I see it as just a waste of a game if it's good, so I tend to savor them anymore. I tend to have way more games I'm working on now than I ever did as a kid, but I think I'm better for it.

Oh wait, I missed the "disregarding the ones your supposed to" bit. Um, I'll have a think and come back. Haha.

I finished Fallout 3 in 7 hours at a friends house once.

We did like 3 quests besides the main quest.

That was a great day.

Besides that umm Portal, Army of Two, and some others I can't recall though...
