Have you ever just finished a game from start to finish in one sitting?

Not since "Gun". The game was pretty short and I was just recovering from a fever so I managed to beat the entire game in one day(non-stop). Although that pales in comparasin to when I got Oblivion a few years ago. Although I didn't beat the game in one sitting, I played from morning to night for almost 5 days, then a little less obsessivly as my addiction wore down.

Latest game I beat in one sitting was Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It was the Single player campaign.
Do you mean the Classic or side scroll bit?
Its not complete 'till you get all the trophies in that vault thingy anyway.
It was that subspace emmissary mode. And finishing a game is different than completing the game. I find that if you are completionist you will get 100% of the game completed. Finishing the game means you sit down and beat the game with the chances of having content missed .

I just sat down and played through the entire subspace emmisary mode and finished it which was good because I unlocked most of the characters for multiplayer sessions.
I would have but I couldn't face doing all the levels again to get the characters so I just played on No More Heroes

well minesweeper of course.

actually, i have the attention span of a squirrel, so i would probably never be able to play through anything longer than portal in one sitting. granted, i very often turn the system off, take a five minute break, want to get back on, and decide not to because the system is already off. if i could actually just leave it paused for five minutes, then i could probably be a lot better.

My roommate and I powered through all three Halos in one night. Needless to say we were both very late to where we had to be (him work, me class).
That'd be more impressive if you did it on legendary.

I did that with Halo 2 and Red Faction.

I don't think anyone should mention Sports/Fighting/Valve games or expansion packs. It's really easy to do it with sports and fighting games and Valve and expansions are usually really short.
Halo 1 was legendary, Halo 2 hard, Halo 3 hard.

Some of the best Saturday mornings of my life were when I was maybe 10 or 11. I'd wake up early and beat Sonic in time to watch cartoons over a bowl of sugar-packed cereal.

Maybe it's because we idealize our childhoods, but I remember those times more fondly than getting stoned and watching Arrested Development in college.

It's funny you mention that: I have been home from work almost all week with tonsillitis and have clocked upwards of 40 hours on Oblivion!

Syphon Filter 1, Syphon Filter 2. Played 'em back to back. Couldn't get enough of the story.
Metroid Prime. Awesome story, music, atmosphere, gameplay. Couldn't put the controller down.
Pikmin, Pikmin 2. They were ridiculously fun.

Portal
Both Half-Life 2 episodes
Stranglehold
Gears of War
Gears of War 2
Halo: Combat Evolved
Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Might add more later.

I don't think I ever have, although I almost did it with Portal (damn dinner-time), and also almost did it with Super Smash Bros Brawl. I got an award in-game for playing the game for 10 hours straight.
