Have you ever liked a game everyone else hated (or just said it sucked)?

Castlevania Lords of Shadow. I mean, it felt different from GOW combat in a good way, and frankly, I dont understand why everyone who ever hears a mention of it bags on it.

Deus Ex: Invisible War: While its third place in the series for me I still love it, it was the first Deus Ex game I ever played and while not the best of them it was the one I spent the most time on, also Omar ftw.

Project Snowblind: More obscure (based on the fact that I've never met anyone else who's played it) than hated it was a previous generation FPS. Short but entertaining and it sure as hell didn't hold your hand.

I do like SaGa, I wont argue that Unlimited was still an awful awful game....
Yes! The SaGas were amazing! Execpt for unlimited. And Romancing got a little repetitive. I also liked the originall Alone in the dark. i know it had the worst ending immaginable, but it still that atmosphere buildup that made you want to crap your pants anytime the lights went out.

Hm well when I was in high school everybody hated Viewtiful Joe 1 because of the "crappy graphics" and because it was a sidescroller. It was really annoying but eh, their loss :D
Who are these people and where do they live so I can slap them? Viewtiful Joe is way better than alot of games coming out today.

From what I've read here, Dragon Age 2 is disliked. I enjoyed it a lot. Had problems, yeah, but it was still good.

I also really liked FF13. I think it's great. Story was fun, battle system was fun, characters were good, I enjoyed it. It was slow to start, but I watched a friend play it first, so when I went through I skipped the cutscenes and caught up to the good gameplay quickly. It was beautiful to look at too, one of the prettiest games I've played.

Most all of my games are critically acclaimed (Portal 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Pokemon, etc) except for one...Dynasty Warriors 3. It's a guilty pleasure. I can see it's flaws, but for whatever reason, I like it. It's hidden behind Ocarina of Time and Okami so people don't judge me. Yes, alphabetical order, regardless of generation.

I know right. Well I grew up in the Dominican Republic and over there videogames were super niche at the time since consoles are like 10x the price in the US. Most people would just get them when on trips to the US or wherever (PS3 was well over $1000 on release). Nowadays games are more mainstream though...
Anyway of the few people who did play at my school, none of them had actually played the game except for the guy who first showed it to me he was the only one who did like it and also was american). They automatically dismissed it as crap for the reasons I mentioned and...yep. lol the ironic part is they actually made fun of me for liking it :p

Lots of people hate on Heavy Rain, but it's one of my favorite games. "Waaah cutscenes only waaaahh quick time events waaaahh."

I actually enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2. It was a fun and lolzy game for a rainy day. I thought the dress-sphere mechanic was neat. I have no FF fanboyism (and have played, to my record, only half of IX and that's it for FF), so I didn't give a crap if they turned Yuna into a girly-girl or what. There. I said it.

Everyone I know disliked Metro 2033 because they're ignorant and don't pay attention to fine details in the story. I played through the game 6 times and still want to play it again as I type this, oh the throwing knife fun...It was just amazing for me. It had amazing atmosphere, amazing original music, amazing story, at least average controls (I'll be first to admit it has some kinks) and on top it off, even though it was an FPS I never got to the point where I was only playing to finish the game, it was all about the story and atmosphere. This is the only game I have ever wanted to gain every single achievement in, because I have fun the entire time while doing it, rather than it feeling like a chore.

And I will say, I still play the Kingdom Hearts games. So many people seem to hate it now, though a lot of the hate was because of the way all of the filler games are spread across various consoles.

There was this one Robin Hood game for the PS2 where it played like an RTF unless you were raiding traders or a castle and then it was an action game. I loved it, but no one else has heard of it.

Does anyone here like Spyro: A Hero's Tail? You do?
Do you consider it best Spyro game ever? No? Well, I'll talk about that.
Spyro: A Hero's Tail was awesome. The plot was... acceptable, the humor was... okay, and the gameplay... was okay. You know what, this probably didn't trump the original trilogy, but it definetely came the closest.
Oh, and it's the prettiest Spyro game I've ever played.
