Before the release of Halo 4, I had hoped Halo would die, just because of the rebooted Combat Evolved. I thought anything that has to be rebooted must be getting stale.
This. Also, I thought that the Call of Duty series should have ended after World at War. I also thought that the R. A. Salvatore Forgotten Realms series was excellent, but should have ended before Artemis Entreri turned into an overly emotional wimp and was no longer a hardened assassin.

Yes. Metal Gear.

I've always loved the series, but 4 is so final that I'd kind of like to leave it there. I'm a little disappointed that V will be a prequel, because it means that the story will have to be awkwardly shoved into the canon so that it is compelling enough to be a great story, but unimportant enough that it doesn't get brought up in Guns of the Patriots.

I trust the game will be great, but if they had called it a series at 4 (not counting spin-offs) I'd have been happier. But who knows, the game could still change my mind

Personally, I think One Piece has gone on long enough. In fact, I think the CP9 saga, especially Enies Lobby, was the peak of the series for both action character moments. I think they could have rescued Robin, sailed off into the sunset, now enemies of the World Government "And the adventure continues..."

I would have been happy with that. Don't get me wrong, I love Brook and the Whitebeard War was awesome, I just think it could have wrapped up after CP9. Guess that would have left too many plot threads though.

I used to love Fairly Oddparents, but it's gone on way too long. They should've ended it with the Channel Chasers movie (which was also, coincidentally, the most perfect ending the series could possibly hope for), and before they jumped like three sharks.
Fairly Odd Parents is still going on? It came out what, 2002, and the channel chasers movie was mid to late 2000's?

That'd be like if you told me they were still making Jimmy Neutron or Code Name Kids Next Door.

2. They tell you why. Is it a wonder that the government would keep stockpiles of weapons and armor at the capital military base?
Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, aside from the T-51b wearing soldiers on the oil rig in FO2 (which may have been added in with the Restoration Mod, I can't really remember), the Enclave doesn't use a single unit of pre-war power armour, or plasma rifle for that matter, for their field troops, they developed and manufactured each and every single suit of Advanced Power Armour (as well as the APA Mk. 2 and Hellfire Armour, obviously) themselves, which is why the Brotherhood, a faction that does rely entirely on ancient government equipment is never seen with Enclave equipment. Just thought I'd point that out, as assuming I'm remembering correctly it begs the question of how they managed to manaufacture all those fancy new units of APA Mk. 2 after their main base of operations, and logically largest (if not only) manufacturing plant was destroyed at the end of FO2.

OT:

Mass Effect, The Simpsons, Final Fantasy, and Star Wars.

I don't want to start a flame war here so I'll omit my reasons for wanting Mass Effect to end.

The Simpsons feels souless nowadays. The humour is stale, and the stories feel half-baked, it should have been layed to rest a while ago.

Final Fantasy... By God, it's been circling down the drain for a long fucking while now, and the leads behind it obviously have no damned idea of what they're doing, if they had a heart they'd just let it die already rather then forcibly keeping it on life support.

And Star Wars... The prequel trilogy. 'Nuff said.

I'm having this deal with Supernatural at the moment.
I love the series and there are a few times I think they could've ended it, I'm just waiting for the dip to come when it turns bad :,(
I don't wana see that happen!

Bleach should have ended when the Aizen arc finished.
Yet Shonen Jump just couldn't pull the trigger.
It was juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust popular enough to squeeze out two more arcs, I guess.

CAPTCHA: Pleased as punch
I wasn't.
I admit i agree it should have ended with Aizens defeat and Ichigo losing his powers: it was a bit bitter-sweet, but it worked damned well as a neat send-off. If i was to continue, i'd make a prequel detailing Isshins adventures and how he met Ichigo's mom. Although i will say the latest Arc is actually pretty good from what i've seen....well, at-least compared to the Fullbring Arc.

Then again, it's the Fullbring Arc...anything can look good after that.

Assassin's creed. They already made it a yearly franchise and killed the series for pretty fast.

Gears of war. They had finished the story and it was clear that Gears 3 was the most refined version of the gears formula. Now we got gears judgment and it is the worst kind of prequel. Even though they were proclaiming loud and clear how they had great writers with years of experience, They had the most meaningless story ever. Which was really annoying, because they had a great set-up: following a squad, led by Baird, 6 weeks after E-day. And they blew, and the blew it bad.

i know that feels well too, although i REALLY

want them to wrap up the whole god/trials thing, i'm going to be disappointed if they don't bring up god or wrap him/her/it up somehow, they pulled the god card multiple times in some of the later seasons and it's gonna be bullshit if they don't flesh that out.

regardless, the show is fucking amazing though and i'm gonna rewatch it probably at least once.

I loved all the Halo games, and I honestly thought that Three was the end. The could have dona all the prequels and expansions to the universe, but Halo 3 was the end of the Master Chief's story. When Halo 4 came out I was quite skeptical, but when I played it, they added a ton more story to the universe, and I love it.

Another would be Supernatural. After season five, which for me was the official end of the series, I just didn't want it to continue, because where could they go? But, just like Halo, I've learned to appreciate all the new stuff they've added, and I've watched every episode so far, but season five, had it ended right there, would have been a great ending to a show.

I certainly hope the trials will all be done and I think that after closing the gates of hell (and heaven?) the series will most likely end. Since they have pulled the God card a few times we certainly know that there is a "higher power" but "fleshing out" God would be to me a bit too much (unless it's Morgan Freeman //sarcasm). For me that would be a step too far, maybe, but who knows...
So yeah, max one more season to wrap the current problem up and then finish this of, please. I only want to have happy memories of this series.

i do hope it ends in the next season or so, and i understand your concern with the whole god thing but i just think with all the build up of "god" they've had in the past few seasons and to use the god card on multiple occasions where they died or whatever, it's a bit bull if they just leave it there and don't do anything with it. i'm not saying god has to "appear" in human form or whatever, but just a little bit of closure is what i'd like to that.

I am of the opinion that Stargate should have ended after Apophis died. The Ori and Wraith were mostly just retreds of the same thing, poorly executed. Replicators were just not compelling as villains, and the ancients were really overplayed in later seasons, giving the heroes access to more and more deus ex machinas.

Star Trek: There were no movies made after First Contact (I'm sure some people might draw the line earlier) and there was no Voyager or Enterprise series. JJ's Trek is a reboot, not an alternate timeline.

Babylon 5. The series was just so good. I doubt any sequel/prequel/reboot could do the original show justice. I might be open for a Babylon 5 game, but I know that will never happen.

Mass Effect, God of War, Halo have all overstayed their welcome and are all getting tired and overdone, and take up market share that could be better served by new series. Variety is the spice of life and all that, they should just gracefully bow out and make room for other games.

For books, Dune springs to mind, the later books are just dreadful, horrible dross-even the ones penned by Frank Herbert. The line should be drawn after either the first book, or the first three.
