Navi- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (I liked her)
Tatl- Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (I'm not sure why people complained she wans't Navi when they hated Navi)
Moira Brown- Fallout 3 (she's quirky, is human and feels like she should be my mom in the game. It comforts me)
Squall- Final Fantasy 8/Dissidia (Dissidia made me not hate him, as his character becomes pro in the story)
Kane & Lynch (Never knew they garnered hate, but I like them. They're the lovable duo)
JarJar Binks- Star Wars (I actually face palm with a grin everytime I see him on screen in the cartoon, if only because something dumb and funny is going to happen)
Samus- Metroid (Post Other M. I liked her in Other M. She's not changed in a 180 fashion, she's grown as a person. Deal with it)

In no particular order;

THE FUCKING ARBITER, Halo 2 -
Wait... You mean... The Arbiter... isn't playable in Halo 3? .....GRABALRAGHAFALAGH!

I LOVED the Arbiter's missions in Halo 2, they were leaps and bounds ahead of the Chief's missions in my opinion, hell, I sometimes go back and start up Halo 2 just so I can play the Arbiter's missions again. Not having him as a playable character in Halo 3 caused me to RAGE, hard.

Not to mention that nobody actually gives a ligitimate reason for not liking him, seriously, in the years since Halo 2 was released, I have never recieved a real reason for his missions to be disliked as much as they are, leading me to believe that the only reason he isn't liked, is because the brain dead fans were mad that they "gotted an interesting character 'n story in mah generic space marine Haloz!!!1!11!"

[sub][sub]I hate the fanboys so much...[/sub][/sub]

Jack Marston, Red Dead Redemption -
I personally have absolutely no problems with Jack, and actually enjoy
playing as him after John dies, I actually left every Stanger mission (save "I Know You") untouched on my second playthrough so I'd have some psuedo-missions to play through as Jack, I think it was a nice touch giving him his own dialogue in for the Stanger missions.
________________________________

Raiden, Metal Gear Solid 2 -
Okay, not so much 'liked' as had no problems with' for Raiden, but I thought I should include him here, as typically people seem to absolutely dispise him.
________________________________

Jar Jar Binks, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
I'm not joking here, I genuinely liked Jar Jar, I don't care what anyone else says, he's one of the prime sources of entertainment in the entire movie.
________________________________

The Ewoks, Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi
Little furry bears that kick the asses of Imperial Stormtroopers with stone age-era weaponry? HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU NOT LOVE THEM!?

Well that's my opinion on the matter, I'm sure I have a few more that I just can't think of at the moment, but I can't really be bothered.

At first, Sanosuke was my favorite character just because there was no one really likeable until the Kyoto arc. Then Saito appeared, and he was badass. And now he easily one of the best parts of Rurouni Kenshin. The only thing I really dislike about him is that all he has is Gatotsu.
I actually found it hard to really hate any of the characters, i just like them that much.

Yea, it is kinda disappointing that he doesn't have that large of a move set.
But really he doesn't need that many moves.
Gatotsu is just that powerful.
It's not that I hated them, except the kids (they suck at life or whatever), I just didn't find any of them all that interesting. Sanosuke was the relative tough guy. Then Saito comes in, gloriously destroys Sanosuke (twice) and does a pretty good job fighting against Kenshin. And it was awesome. And he knows how awesome he is. Sentence fragment. He just went in and was like "I just messed up your best friend's shoulder and nearly killed you. Deal with it" (sort of). Then other stuff happened and I need to rewatch it.
The series didn't even start for me until Kyoto. Then I stopped watching because there no longer seemed to be a point to.
And I probably wouldn't mind gatotsu as much if I thought it looked cooler.

I have always liked Moira Brown as well, especially her little speech about why she feels she has to write the survival guide...

"Well, look around at the world we live in. It may be okay to you, but I've read about what it used to be like, and this isn't it. So we all need something that keeps us going, despite all the terrible things around us. For me, it's things like this book... did you ever try to put a broken piece of glass back together? Even if the pieces fit, you can't make it whole again the way it was. But if you're clever, you can still use the pieces to make other useful things. Maybe even something wonderful, like a mosaic. Well, the world broke just like glass. And everyone's trying to put it back together like it was, but it'll never come together the same way... the Wasteland Survival Guide isn't much towards that lofty goal, but its an important one. And that's why I need your help. I don't think I can do it alone."
D'aaaawww. That last bit made me want to give a bouquet of puppies.

Jack Marston from Red Dead Redemption. I'm not sure if people just dislike him as a character, or because....
You have to put up with his higher-pitched voice so much after the story has ended. It doesn't bother me one bit, and I thought it was quite neat that you unlock a new character, even if he does play exactly the same as John. (Though I do wish there was a cheat that let you switched back to John, mainly so I can play the game around friends without having to worry about ruining the ending for them) In fact, I have officially spent more time playing RDR as Jack then I did John. Not only does it show the replay value of this game, it means I didn't hate Jack enough to want to start over.

And as a character, well, he's whatever you want him to be since there isn't any narrative to define his exact characteristics. Does he become an honorable vigilante like his father (So says the story, anyways), or does he forever harbor a hatred for lawmen and become an outlaw? It can really go both ways. So if you don't like Jack due to the fact that he can shit all over his father's legacy, well, whose fault is that? You're the one holding the controller.

I'd also love to see some DLC that gives Jack his own storyline, though preferably without tying him down to a specific set of morals as with John.

Usually I hate most of the characters everyone likes, but very rarely is it the other way around.

I've seen a lot of people say "Squall." I wasn't aware people didn't like him. I liked him at the beginning of the game when he was a complete dick who hated everybody, because I hated all the other characters so when he'd shoot them down it amused me, but then he progressively turned into a big ball of cuddles n' hugs, so if people hate him because he's an asshole, I guess he would apply. But if people hate him for the same reason i didn't like him than I guess that's null and void.

People hated Moira? What the hell is wrong with these people?
Also, apparently people disliked Reaver, from Fable 2, or something? I thought he was pretty cool. I mean, who was I to judge how much of a dick he is? I killed like five prostitutes on the way to meeting him the first time.
EDIT: Oh, and Navi. She only spoke when she was needed, and that wasn't too often.

I loved the Mako from Mass Effect... disappointed they removed it...

I also like Sanae Kochiya from the Touhou series... Everyone seems to hate her for really dumb reasons...

The series did get boring to me after Shisho was defeated.
The manga is much better and stays interesting thought the entire thing though.

And you just gave me an idea for a new "Deal with it" image.

Raiden from MGS2.

I loved him from the beginning but that may be because I never played the first MGS, but still I didn't understand the hate for him.
This.

Everyone seemed to hate Lightning from FF13, being "another chick with a sword". I thought Lightning was by far the best character, because she kept her mouth shut and killed people, at least most of the time. That's as much as I could ask from any character from that game.
This also.
And Tidus. Tidus IS annoying, but in the end I genuinely ended up feeling for the guy. How would YOU act if your world got torn apart and you found yourself in a primitive, desolate future? And knew it was all your dad's fault? And found out you weren't a real boy? And he's a LOT better as a hero character than Vaan the Bland!

Will I be tied to post, told my last rights and flogged for saying Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII?
I didn't hate her, but I was confused. Very confused. She's too happy about things she shouldn't be. And she's kinda bland for a plucky comic relief, although this is probably so that Sasz's personality comes to the forefront.

Jar Jar Binks, he's just so awesome :D
He was an eye-roller of a character, but what people don't realize is that his stupidity actually helps the story. He's used as a lesson to Obi-Wan that all creatures, no matter how stupid, are a part of the Force. The whole movie is about Obi-Wan's coming of age and becoming the man we remember from the original trilogy. Even so, Binks's story is of him overcoming his shortcomings to become something greater; the representative of his people to the Naboo to end their feud. I don't like him, but Episode 1 would lose some of its magic without him, believe it or not. Anakin was too young to be more interesting than he was in the film, being that the story's a drama.
