Have you ever replayed a 'bad' game later on and changed your mind?

Yeah, I had this with the aptly named "Invisible War syndrome", but I replayed it recently and it wasn't "bad", not really, considering the beating it got when it came out.

Definitely Oblivion. Pretty much because Mage is the only class you can play (all my previous runs were with fighters).

I still don't *like* like it though. A Beth game that forces you to pick one class is like Call of Duty without guns.
What do you mean "Mage is the only class you can play"? I play a spell sword. Emphasis on the sword. lol

I really didn't like Enslaved: Odyssey to the west at first.

Then i was really bored one day and picked it up, and fell in love with it!

Mass Effect, the first time I tried to play it was when I borrowed it off my boyfriend for the xbox a couple of years ago, I got as far as the Citadel, got bored and gave it back.

When I recently moved house I decided to get it for the PC because I was going to be without internet for about 2 weeks, and I really enjoyed Dragon Age, so I thought I'd give it another shot. And once I got past the Citadel and started the main quests, I was hooked. It's now one of my favourite games of all time!

I'm usually very forgiving with bad games
so when I categorize a game as "bad", then it usually has to be a pile of shit with no redeeming quality

In Oblivion the only class that is shit is a normal Archer without sneak. All others are usable but the easiest classes in my opinion are a combo of combat and magic.

OT: I really hate Minetcraft, Dwarf Fortress and Team Fortress 2 at the start but I have decided to persevere with them and have enjoyed them all.

Unreal Tournament 2003 when I played the demo I thought it was terrible. I installed it again a few months afterward and I enjoyed it. Thus started many years of playing that game online.

I'd also say Halo 3. I really disliked it overall but when I played it with my brother in co-op it marginally more enjoyable.

I wanted to play a Heavy Armour/Blunt Weapon Male Nord, and it became so difficult that Camoran took me at least 50 tries. Then go with Female Altmer full-on Mage, and I can pretty much make a sandwich during battles while waiting for my summons to finish off the enemy.
You should try a Hybrid. For example, take something like Heavy Armour, Blunt, Conjuration, Alteration, Restoration, Blocking, and well this one is up to you. Athletics for speed or Armourer for easier repair quicker or Destruction for touch spells could be taken here.

Odd, because my Dunmer Spellsword (who mostly focuses on healing spells and buffs) has little to no problem pwning anything in a couple of blows from his longsword.

Tales of the Abyss. Ditched it at a boss fight or just after quite early in the game, and didn't return for a while since I didn't remember where was I and how to play. I've returned 2-3 years later and started a new save. Really awesome game<3

Despite my best efforts, not Oblivion. Every time I decide to go back to it, I'm like "This is gonna be so awesome". An hour in it's "This is kinda cool...". 2 hours and I'm already outright bored.

GTA4 possibly. When I first picked it up I had no patience for the story, and GTA4 doesn't really offer anything else to do. Second time I went ahead with the missions, and found they do eventually pick up (though I still hate the first few).

When I first played through Half-life 2 I thought it was pretty good, but the ending left such a bad taste in my mouth (the rooftop strider battle was an exercise in frustration, the level design in the citadel was very unclear and at many points made no sense story-wise and the final boss was downright pathetic), but once I played it again I remembered just how good some parts in it are, like the beginning at the train station and Ravenholm that I'm leaning on forgiving the bad parts.

It's just astounding how polarized the game is, some parts are pure and utter brilliance and others can go and **** right off.

Lost odessey : heard amazing things about it ( people called it Manly tears: the game ) . I started playing it the first time and couldn't get the hand of it , apparently i was doing it wrong , i used to get destroyed by random encounters . I tried it again a year later ( and started doing it right ). Its quite an amazing game and the story is very well written . Though i never cried , never has a game filled me with so much sadness.

Also i stop playing resonance of fate because i was doing that wrong too and can'tget a hold of the combat , i gotta pick that up again.

Currently i am playing argrest war : zero , and i KNOW im doing it wrong but i don't know why . The manual ( yes the manual i RARELY read video game manuals ) explain NOTHING i don't already know , there must be something i'm missing , but i won't let the game win , my gamers pride won't let me , if anyone has this game and want to give me tips , im all ears.

RIFT. Tried it, thought it was an abominable piece of shit and beat myself up over wasting money on it.

Tried it later, just thought it was mediocre and not really what I was looking for in an MMO. This is probably mostly because I didn't blow any money on it that time.

Quite a few. Mass Effect was one of the more recent ones. I couldn't really stand it the first time I played it, then I gave it another go later and loved it. Same was true of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Shadow of the colossus.

I first played a bit of a demo of it in a shop. After 5 minutes of gameplay I declared it utter shit.

Skip forward 2 years. A friend wanted to get it and I tried to persuade them not to. After they did, and loved it I did a bit of research and discovered, there's a lot more to the game then the 5 minutes of it, I played. I decided to try it out for myself, and now it's one of my all-time favorite games.

Basically the first three games I really played: Galactic Civilisations 2, Battlefield 2142 and Oblivion. Needless to say I didn't exactly pick easy games to get into.

Galactic Civs, when I first played it, was basically like running into a brick wall. I didn't understand how the economies, research, movement, combat and interactions worked (this is after trying to figure out how to step a game to begin with) so I was ending bankrupt and outclassed by every other empire only 20 game weeks in. Once I did manage to figure it out, it became one of my all time favourite games and one I played constantly.

Battlefield 2142 was my first foray into shooters so I had to deal with not only learning the basic mechanics of any shooter, but also the upgrade system, the commander mode (I never really got the hang of it), vehicle control and the objectives. Again, once I did understand it, I loved.

Oblivion just took a few tries to get into, but I did and it became my most replayed game.

Mass Effect 1 - I found it to be a struggle at the start because I didn't know anything...then I got into it and now I can't wait for ME3! Also...ME2 is easily one of my favourite games ever.

Another one is this Pirates of the Caribbean game for the Xbox...I started out hating it because it wasn't anything like the movie but then I played it for a bit longer and enjoyed it a lot (its not a great game...theres like only one way to fight which is swing-block-swing-block which is kinda tedious) but I enjoyed exploring the islands and boarding ships and getting them on my fleet :)
