Have you not bought a game after watching Yahtzee's review of it?

Yahtzee tends to be negative about every game he reviews, simply to be entertaining in a few ways. But needless to say, were you ever interested in a game like Bulletstorm, but then after watching Yahtzee's negative review of it, did you ultimately decide not to purchase?

Not really. I always take his reviews with a pinch of salt. If I believed everything he said about every game ever, I would have little enjoyment.

Nope. It takes more than a negative review to get me to decide not to buy a game.
...Like lack of money, forgetfulness and the fact that I'm easily distracted by other games.

I've never dropped a game solely because of a Zero Punctuation episode, but there are times he's influenced my decision not to get a game (or in a few cases, that a game is worth considering).

I don't think of Yahtzee as a reviewer. I think of him as a comedian who makes jokes about games in the fashion of a review.

I generally know if I'm going to get a game or not prior to seeing Yahtzee's review of it.

No, Yathzee is just weekly entertainment to me. I decide from watching gameplay videos so I can make my own choices.

With the exception of games I had no interest in getting anyway, no.

While he's entitled to his own opinion that doesn't change the fact that from my perspective he does seem to have a bit of a close minded view towards the games he likes (namely disqualifying anything that is multiplayer centered and placing narrative on a proverbial altar).

Also, I belly laugh at him for his views about Red Faction (although not on Gurrilla, I will agree that one kind of sucked) and Splatterhouse.

Not at all.

The only time where I would think about not getting a game after a review of his is when he really hates it. But then again, there was pretty much no way in hell I would have gotten said game in the first place.

I buy three games a year tops. I know what I'm getting into very far before hand. Not many reviews would hinder my decision, even if they were trying to be serious.

I watch Yahtzee's reviews solely for the entertainment value, not a smidge for the game review itself.

A while after I saw the Mindjack review, I saw it for really cheap. Then I remembered "It's fucking, fucking, fucking, bad, bad, bad, don't,don't buy it."

None of his reviews have ever given me reason to not buy a game, or to continue loving games I already own. In fact, whenever I buy a game he's reviewed in the past, I always go back and re-watch that review after playing the new game for a day or so. It's much funnier if you've actually played the games he's talking about.

No, but I did buy Painkiller purely because of his review. And I liked it a lot. It's just not the type of game I would have normally picked up.

He does point out real flaws in the games, but I never trust a single review, even if it's a "serous" one.

Pretty much this, It's basically his job to find things about a game he does not like and complain about them in the most entertaining way possible. Many games that he totally blasts I have gone on to buy and enjoy.

No, because I don't consider them reviews.

To me they're just videos that use video games as a source of comedy.

No, in fact, some games I've bought solely on reviews by him. In fairness, once I got the hang of it, Just Cause 2 was actually really good fun.

I actually didn't buy Infamous because of his review. Which is funny because in his review of Infamous 2 he made it clear that he really liked Infamous. And I got it for free because of the whole PSN hacking thing and it turned out to be good. I think there may be a lesson in there somewhere.

Actually, lots of his reviews make me want to buy them. His Fable TLC review, his 2nd ever, made me buy it (money well spent in my own opinion), so did Two Worlds II (also a good game) and I might buy S.T.A.L.K.E.R, pain killer or Just Cause. And if I didn't already own New Vegas I would of bought it as he made it sound so much fun.

EDIT: Oh and I also bought Amnesia, which gave me nightmares for weeks. At least it was scary, just a little too scary :O
