I'm happily married, but I'm also a dirt-poor PhD student with a whole bouquet of wonderful hereditary conditions who's clinging on to the last of his thirties by a few atoms of fingernail.

My answer is left as an exercise for the reader.

I'd like to have two children, one boy and one girl.

Not for a long time though.

I'd definitely like kids some time in the future, but not until I've been working a few years. I'd have to be capable of taking care of myself (and them) financially, and I'd have to be a little older than I am since I have no wish to become a teen-pregnancy statistic (one more day and I'm safe from that forever). And I can see myself adopting, provided I felt (same goes for biological kids of mine) that I could give them what they needed.

I don't particularly care about other people having kids. The only time it irks me is when I see those people with 10+ kids and they're all theirs.

I don't really understand why someone would want to do that....
They didn't want the kids. They just wanted the sex. Catholicism, you do the math :)

My personal view is almost one of being obliged to have kids in the future. After all, I'm somewhat doubtful on immortality being discovered soon enough to be useful for me, so might as well have my own little half-clone taught by me properly taking over my future corporate empire rather than some random halfwit produced from inferior genetic material.

Or not. I don't really care one way or the other at this point in time.

This is becoming incresingly common. My mother is a teacher and she's astonished at the amount of teens that are having kinds before they reach their 20's.
I hear you, also, another common issue is the amount, me sis couldn't take care properly of their children, so my mother took two with her and legally adopted them.

I'll have kids, but I need to have the correct financial clout in order to make it so that they won't have the same childhood I had. Also, I would need a girlfriend/wife in order to have the correct amount of chromosomes available to have them. And...er...you know, do the horrizontal boogie :D

I'm nearly 21 now, so I've got the better part of a decade or so before I have kids. I'd rather live life to the max up until my peak age, and then dedicate my downhill ages to my kids.

My prime belongs to me. They'll have theirs as well.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm gonna spank my kids when they get out of line. It worked on me.

Yes. I'd love to have my first when I'm 24-27.
But that all depends on when I'll meet the guy who's gonna be the father.

And no, I don't think it's selfish to choose not to have kids. My brother decided not to have any because of the risk of passing on our terrible depression/OCD-genes. So given that, one might say I'm the one who's selfish for wanting to have kids in the first place.

Oh, I love when people say they won't have them.

I've yet to meet someone without a kid unless they have seminal problems or something.

I'll have kids one day, no doubt about it.

I just hope I have them with the right girl.

I was ready to be a mother... up until my miscarriage almost 3 months ago.
Now... I am not ready for a child. I will have one again someday. When I get a better job, finish school, and maybe am married to my boyfriend. A couple of years. About 3 or 5.

I want 3 or 4 children. Right now I am happy playing mother with my goddaughter and soon to be born godson.

Why would I want to have a kid? When my future wife divorces me I'll have to pay most of my money to support the thing. Fuck that noise.

I want to have a life and lots of disposable income to spend on cocaine and trips around the world.

Would I want to have a child anytime soon? No, definitely not. However I do see the allure of having one to teach and pass down your knowledge/experiences to. One thing though, if it's a male and he doesn't go in to engineering or become some kind of scientist/researcher I'm disowning him.
