Halo 2 - When you enter the round room during the Elites rebellion against the council and 2 hunters come running out with like 10 elites, 15 brutes and even some jackals fighting each other and then the music starts playing (I believe it's Blow me Away by Breaking Benjamin). When I first see the room I'm like holy sh*t, I'm so screwed. (queue music) Alright bring it.

Every Halo game has a part that is truly amazing but I'd say this 1 beats the rest.

All right, brace yourselves, because this is going to be awesome.

In "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess", we're treated to a flashback of Ganondorf's execution. A group of sages (isn't that just the way to kill someone?) generate a sword of pure light for the sole purpose of ending Ganondorf's potentially pig-faced life. Not only did this fail to kill him (are you surprised?); but Ganondorf pulled the blade out of his own chest, broke the chains that held him down, and killed one of the sages before they realized how screwed they were. And yes, he uses that sword throughout the entire game. The whole game is worth playing for that scene alone.
You just reminded me of my favorite "fuck yeah" moment from Zelda. Link at the end of Wind Waker. Sword right in Ganondorf's head, this is the "kiddy one".

Mass Effect spoilers ahead

In Mass Effect 1, I always thought it was so epic when you decide to call in the human fleet at the end to save the council, it always gives me goosebumps of excitement. Mainly because the Asari go from D: to :D.

In Mass Effect 2 when you decide to give the Illusive man the big middle finger and blow up the base, when you pull your entire team through the suicide mission, when you meet Archangel, everything Mordin says etc.

Every once in a while, there's a rare magic moment in game when soundtrack, game play, and story align in sync and make for a moment of unforgettable immersion. Running through gunfire on Virmire to this track was one of those rare moments for me.

Shall just leave those here and move on.
Oh, hell yes. I'll admit, up until this point in the game, it had been kind of tedious for me. None of your powers are any good until around level 30, so it had been a bit frustrating. But on Virmire? I had finally crossed the threshold from "barely surviving combat" to "kicking serious ass", and that coincided with one of the most awesome levels in any game ever.

Suffice it to say, it was pretty fun.

Also, the assault on the Jefferson Memorial in Fallout 3, the sniper levels of CoD 4, a whole lot of cases in L.A. Noire, the first and last acts of Gears of War 2...

I could go on, but I don't want to. Given their cost, most games I get are really good ones, with a high HSQ (Holy Shit Quotient). So there's bound to be a lot of times when my jaw has dropped while playing a game.

The Witcher 2: Fighting Letho for the first time in the elven baths was amazingly awesome. Probably one of my favourite moments in the game.

many moments like that playing halo multiplayer or cod. when shit gets chaotic and 4 dudes come at you at once and 90% of the time they kill you instantly. But every now and then, with just the right bit of luck and the right timing you somehow kill them all.

Devil May Cry 3 lvl 20 DMD, The entire Masamune Date campaign in sengoku basara 2.
If were counting Visual novels then: In Fate Stay/night it was when Archer and Emiya started fighting in the Einzbern mansion and about every moment in Clannad ever.
Maybe in CoD MW the final mission where we were on trucks. That was fun as hell.

Portal 2: Anyone who's played the final boss will know ecactly what I'm talking about. :D
Shadow of the Colossus: err, all of it?
Just Cause 2: Fighting the dictator bad guy whilst you both surf nuclear missiles around the country is just too hilarious to properly describe in words.

The first controllable scene in Dragon Age 2 after playing Dragon Age: Origins. The fight is so much more awesome if you compare it to the previous game.

Well, All MGS games have wowed me for several reasons, same with most Gta games, AC have done the same... Uncharted did good stuff for me too.

But the thing that made me go "F*** me, this is brilliant!" is the ending in Red Dead Redemption, never before have I seen better story telling!

Eh, I might be the only one who found the final battle of Episode 1 better. Leave it to them to find a way to take a battle we've done several times before and make it interesting.
If I recall correctly, it was the combination of driving the Muscle Car in search of Strider ass to kick and this music [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQdoDpK0120&feature=player_detailpage#t=124s] kicking in that made me cream my pants. Seriously felt like the fate of the world was in my hands.
Oh yeah, the Ep 2 ending was great. Just for me, the Ep 1 ending was even better. Frantically running around the trainyard, running up and over shipping containers, desperately searching for the rockets and vantage point you need to take out that Strider as it destroys the environment around you...so awesome.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Your overnight stay in the inn is one of my favourite sections of a video game ever. Just so intense, they're smashing down doors, you're trying to hit the locks with the clumsy controls and push stuff in their way...ahh. Anyone who's played must know what I'm talking about.
Wanna know what's even cooler about that? Read The Shadow over Innsmouth, that scene was adapted almost perfectly from the story. It's awesome.

When I first played the Mayhem level on Ace Combat Zero and the awesome soundtrack came on as I was blasting enemy aircraft from the skies; still one of the best P2 games ever
<youtube=dW6oT4Tc8bA>
So was the fight with the Hresvelgr; I had never thought that fighting a massive airship could have been so awesome
<youtube=gfwXG-lec-U>

I have a couple from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare;
1) When you play as the AC-130 weapons operator; I was like "What the?! This is AWESOME!!!"; other games have tried since, but its just not the same.
2) When I first used the MP44 in multiplayer and racked up a massive number of kills.

That's all that comes to mind just now, but I've had plenty of moments like that in a lot of games; that's why I still have a lot of those games.

Kingdom Hearts: The first time you choose the Platinum Match in the Colosseum. You have no idea who you're going to fight. The lights dim, the glowing glyph appears in the sky, and you-know-who drops down. And then the music and the chanting starts. Holy... f**king... f**k!!!

Actually there are so many cool moments like that in the series. Like when you realize there isn't going to be a cut-scene and you will in fact be fighting 1000 heartless yourself. Or the final battle in 358/2 Days with the two over-powered keyblades. Or the final battle in part 2. Or the total surprise appearance of Chernabog in part 1. God, I could keep going...

Please just make KH3 already.

I have so many moments,most of them from at least ten years ago...System Shock 2,the original Deus Ex,Thief...you see where I'm going,
but I'm delighted to see a few YAYYY moments from fellow escapists about Deus Ex HR...because I haven't felt this good about a game in a LONG time...I was actually giggling like a manic schoolgirl earlier on as I tried to sneak past a shitload of heavily armed troops and a GIANT fucking Robot,messed up the stealth almost as I got away,then got into a protracted gunfight the likes of which I haven't enjoyed so much since the first battle with the Spec Ops in half Life 2...in fact I'm gonna just write a god damn review about this game and send it in to the Escapist,
thats how much it rocks.
yayyyyyy!.
