help im addicted to caffeine!

holy shit i cant go more than 3 hours without coffee or caffeine pills, i freaking love that shit. but at the same time i need to stop before i get a heart attack, or at least so i can sleep a full night. what can i take instead of coffee to get a nice energetic buzz?

Soda? Or smoke a cigarette (they have some caffeine I believe). Neither one is good for you but I think they have less caffeine than coffee. You could even try drinking Caffeine-free drinks, like Sprite.

Just stop drinking it and sleep for a while. Things'll clear up after a while. You could also limit yourself, say, to only 1 caffeinated drink per day.

Excercising might be a good solution. You could also try grapesugar, those give you a quicker than usual energy boost.

Try slowly tapering off the caffeine, instead of drinking 12 cups a day roll it back to 10, then next week only have 8, and so on, and so forth.

Quitting caffeine cold-turkey will probably cause killer headaches, but a slow wean will do the trick.

To get an energetic buzz I heard if you eat an apple it can wake you up even faster than just drinking coffee. And they're good for you so that's a plus right?

Yeah, replacing caffeine with cigarettes would probably be a terrible idea. You might get off caffeine but now you're, you know, smoking.

OT: Just cut back and stick to pop. Or, if you really want to, go cold turkey and start from scratch. You'll get DTs, but it'll only last about 5 days.

Frankly, I'm addicted and I'm cool with it. It's just chemicals. I also don't pop pills or drink many energy drinks though, so it's not like I'm consuming a ridiculous amount.

Also, never take caffeine pills. Those things will kill you.

I used to pound soda and still do but i can make due with gatorades etc as well. I usually like a drink with carbonation.

An addiction is something they cant stop, if they can not do it their wouldn't be a problem.

I have no idea in the world why this works... but whenever I feel addicted to something, whether it be caffeine or I just HAVE to go to bed... eat cake. The spongeyness of it just makes puts me in a state of... Cake coma?

You should try that. Or maybe eat a sponge if no cake is available. But icing is still necessary.

Yeah...and they're expensive. I need to quit. In my defense, I smoke for health reasons. 1.) I've seen old people sitting around in Nursing Homes bored out of their minds, staring out the window, wishing their family would visit...(if you have family in a nursing home go visit them, seriously...). I don't want to be like that...and 2.) it keeps me calm which is good for other people's health.

Just kidding drugs are bad... and that includes caffeine.

You should probably reduce your intake as much as possible... daily caffeine pills is bad for you. Even an energy drink like Red Bull isn't a good thing to have a lot of.

Just try having less and less... you don't really need it. Don't take any caffeine within 5 hours of going to bed, and get a good night's rest. Eat some fruit. You might be surprised how much more energy you have.

Try running, as in jogging around the block or something. It gets rid of energy so you'll sleep better. Then try drinking less coffee and not taking caffeine pills. Or maybe not drinking coffee at all.
