Just stop drinking it and sleep for a while. Things'll clear up after a while. You could also limit yourself, say, to only 1 caffeinated drink per day.
An addiction is something they cant stop, if they can not do it their wouldn't be a problem.

I have no idea in the world why this works... but whenever I feel addicted to something, whether it be caffeine or I just HAVE to go to bed... eat cake. The spongeyness of it just makes puts me in a state of... Cake coma?

You should try that. Or maybe eat a sponge if no cake is available. But icing is still necessary.
Yes, but more often than not people exagerate their 'addiction.' Chances are he isn't really addicted.

I once heard an apple is better than a cup of coffee for waking up in the morning. Maybe try that.

Mountain dew has quite a bit of caffine so if you're looking for caffinated soda that is good.

Be a man and just kick it. Restrain yourself from consuming caffeine for a week or so until you're detoxified. Then it will be easier.

Everytime you feel like taking caffiene, spit on the floor. Eventually you will slide in the spit, fall on head, and get some sense knocked into your skull. :3

Do give update, on how it works out.

Move down slowly. Tea might be a way to kick it from your system, the flavor will be different enough that you might be able to ignore the caffeine long enough to work your way down to caffeinated pops.

That is a horrible idea. The headaches I got from a day without the stuff when I was addicted were crippling.

A nice, crumbly crack rock gets the job done...

In all seriousness though, just tough it out.

Also, from my experience, caffeine isn't THAT addictive, so you might just be overexciting yourself to the possibility of caffeine addiction. In plain English, it's all in your head.

Fight your addiction with a stronger drug. Crack might be the thing for you, it's cheap and can be easily obtained.

Just... don't drink it any more? I never understood what people have with addiction and urges. I was a heavy coffee drinker back when I was working and I had no problem at all laying it off.

This thread confuses me!
Why would anyone want to quit the good stuff?
Or take caffeine pills for that matter!
Aw, my friend, you are breaking my heart!

Gonna go make a pot of joe, and mourn for a fallen brother. No cream or sugar this time. Only tears.
Pour a venti out for our homie?

OT: Seriously, never quit caffeine cold-turkey. If you actually want to quit it, go slowly. This is speaking from experience.

I'm actually scaling back my caffeine consumption (I used to drink about 12 shots of espresso a day, now I'm down to six or seven). It's tough, but it'll be worth it in the end.

Switch to some other lower caffeine drink, like Coke. Then just inch your way off of it until you don't need it anymore. (I believe even Tea has caffeine in it).

I imagine it's best if you ease off the stuff. Can't say I've been addicted to any substance, but easing off the stuff is probably easier than going cold turkey.

When you drink coffee, try half-cafs. Hell, decaf still has a little caffeine if that works. Minimize stuff like energy drinks and caffeine pills, and instead drink regular sodas or tea.

There's herbal stuff like ginseng, too. Can't vouch for its effectiveness, but if it works it works.
