i have rather buggered up in Fallout.NV
i am a mortal enemy of caesar legion and i have to go get the platinum chip off caesar/other guy. but they are both in caesar's tent which is in the middle of their fortress.

so far i have killed everyone from the place you get the boat to the tent using a mixture of anti-material rifle, hunting shotgun and running. but now im low on supplies (stimpack, ammo, etc) and i have to enter the tent which has about 10 of the top guys in it and they can kill me in about 3 hits with they over powered weapons.

So is there anything i can do to kill quick them or make them not attack me on site. (wearing their amour doesn't seam to help)

few notes:
-i am lvl21
-I'm trying to be allies with NCR/Brotherhood
-i had the guy say that caesar wanted to meet with me so i went to the dock and got attacked so i shot back and was hostile to them again
-im better at ranged weapons
-i cant use power armour yet
-i haven't done any of their missions. not even the spread the word about them killing the town

I was in the same spot of trouble like you a while back, ended up charging into the tent, turning around and exiting Caesar's tent. They should follow you out into the general compound where theres all kinds of room to runaway in.

If you're allied with NCR, then it's no real surprise that Caesar's Legion attacked you on sight. Having Boone with you can also cause this.

Following the NCR path means that you don't even need the platinum chip, so there's no real need for you to fight the whole camp in the first place.

If you're really keen on killing them, I'd suggest coming back at a higher level with more ammo, power armour and your followers at their best.

Alright, not sure if it works if you're vilified with a faction, but try fast going out of their territory and waiting for three days. If you haven't botched things up with them beyond repair, they ought to not attack you on sight anymore.

And if that doesn't work, revert to a previous save if you really want to talk to Caesar so badly. Or if you want to kill him, my advice is to get a good melee weapon (Knock Knock, Oh, Baby!), since they ignore the damage threshold, and buy a load of Stimpacks at the New Vegas Clinic or Mormon Fort. Fix up your armor and/or upgrade.

All else fails, abuse the console.

I found that an application of Stealth Boys and C4 solved this problem for me. I like to imagine that the rest of the legion would tell stories about the courier who appeared in the middle of Caesar's tent like a ghost and engulfed his guards in pillars of fire with a wave of his hand.

(im currently doing the mission for the NCR which is trying to kill a guy in the kings)

Put on some legion armor to disguise yourself. See if you can talk to Caesar. Or at least pickpocket/stealth kill him.
Thats what I would do.

I'd say either use stealth boys and granade through or get supplies and fight. I myself had boone and ede with me, I just abused back running with machine guns and granades, but caesar never had my chip, I just did it cuz it was fun and I was lv 14 @ the time.

The point of no-return is quite obvious, you actually get a notification on the pipboy that says (more or less)If you continue working with FACTION 1 FACTION 2 will no longer work with you.

Well there was a technique that I used to kill almost everyone in the tent almost instantly but it requires the Wild Wasteland trait to have been selected at the beggining of the game.

If you do have it, all you need to do is find the holy hand grenades from Camp Searchlight. These are special grenades that put the fat-man to shame because they will fuck up anything they come in contact with.

Don't worry about having a low explosive skill either because they'll always do the same amount of damage if I remember correctly. Only setback is there are only three in the game and if you're too close they'll blow you up too.

After you get those, it's just a matter of trial and error when throwing it at the lot of them. Of course, if you don't have Wild Wasteland turned on, then everything above is pointless.

If your on pc the 1 hit kill head-shot mod does wonders (nicely balanced that only humans with no protective headgear are instantly one shotted, all others work on crit hits and luck I suppose) makes the game realistic in that you shoot someone in the head they aren't just going to shake it off.

If your playing on console then do what the other guy said and run away until you have more resources.

The platinum chip plotline isn't the 'main' one, as such. It depends which faction you align with as to whether you need it - I think the NCR plotline is the only one where you never need it at all. In other words, you're forced to make choices with regards to factions and some questlines will not be possible once you're aligned with one faction or another.

If you want to get the platinum chip at this point, I'd suggest:

a) Kill everyone
b) Start a new playthrough and ally with another faction (you probably want to do this later anyway)
c) Don't, as you don't need it anyway (being that you're aligned with the NCR and presumably doing their quests through to the end)
d) Somehow try to improve your standing with the Legion (i.e. get rid of Boone and suck up). This may not be possible if you've already slaughtered your way through most of the camp already, though.

Don't ask me how I got into this situation, but before I even had any Legion infamy I ended up making a full attack on Caesar's camp in both the fort and Cottonwood Cove, and all I can really tell you is, if you have an incinerator, use it. It saved my life and I ended up wiping out all of the Legion.

I've killed Caesar with my second and third characters, both under level 21. The first time I ran in and alien blaster'd everyone to death, the second time I planted a huge pile of mines outside the entrance, ran in, ran out, waited for the mines to kill most of the guards and picked off the rest with a gauss rifle. No big deal.

I'm pretty sure the NCR plot line only opens up once you acquire the platinum chip. The ambassador won't approach you until then. I may be wrong.

I had exceptional stealth when I attempted this, but you can replicate my method using one or more stealth boys which you can probably find in the REPCOMM headquarters. I got onto the island, killed a Caesar member, took his outfit and then walked into the inner fortress. I had Boone and the dog Rex as companions, but they aren't absolutely necessary. What is necessary to defeat Caesar is a lot of time and good skill with a gun. First of all, if the guards in the tent don't kill you immediately (assuming you got to this point either using stealthboys, sneaking or brute force) you can stand in front of Caesar's throne (still dressed as one of them) get off a few hits to his head with VATS and then prepare for a bit of an endurance test. They all have these weapons called Balistic Fists (or something), it's a melee weapon that throws you back and does immense damage. The thing is, it has no range. Even Caesar has one of these, so the strategy is to aggro the room with Caesar in it, shoot them with VATS, run in a circle around the throne room with all of them following you (They'll never change weapons or try to head you off, you can just kite them in circles for hours). You can pick them off one by one with headshots until you either run out of ammo (then you're in serious trouble) or kill them all. Having Boone here was slightly helpful, but not necessary. He took some of the initial attention off me during the beginning of the fight, but he got taken down quickly and didn't get back up until I was done. It's a tricky method to master, but after a few tries you should have no problem. Good luck.

Dark, I've seen that mod and I was wondering, does it also count against you? Because if enemies can one shot kill you it's a bit more balanced. If not it's just a cheat. That said I have a pretty low view of that mod. When you get to be a high enough level you can one-shot just about anything, the mod is pretty pointless, again just allowing you to kill people you have no business trying to kill at a low level. And it's not like anyone told the AI's the new rules so you won't see them running for cover. Some realism. Just a cheat.

As for your situation, MB16, Turbo. If you have any of the drug Turbo you can use it to enter bullet time. The real beauty of it is though that while the world is slowed you move at regular speed. If you're having a problem with getting caught in melee range might be worth it to give it a shot.

MB, what's your weapon? Who's your companion and what are they packing? I'm unarmed personally and I killed the whole camp at level 24, tent included. I was traveling with Cass, who was toting the marksman carbine available at the Gun Runner's.

the base mod itself doesn't but there is an addon feature that allows you to be one shotted if your not wearing armour or headgear by the same modder if your worried about fairness.

It actually opens up after you scare Benny off from The Tops and he runs off to the Legion. You then get the message to see the ambassador, and he doesn't ask you to get the chip (as he has no knowledge of it, presumably).
