Help me convince my girlfriend.

I suppose this could go in gaming OR non-topic.

So my girlfriend wants to get a Xbox 360 and a Kinect....please help me.

I already have an Xbox 360 so it'd be cheaper for her to just buy a Kinect or something, what I want her to get is a PS3 because I think she'd have lots of fun with LBP2 and the PS Move (which I have heard is better but who knows) This isn't suppose to be a flame war or something so just list the pros and cons of both systems I guess or just the PS3.

So please help me convince her the PS3 is a better choice. She's not very good at video games so I can't really even imagine why she'd want the Kinect/Xbox.

Either an Xbox 360 or the Nintendo Wii, but like I said, I'd rather she got the PS3, that way we could just exchange consoles every now and then. (Although now that I think of it, I'll probably just get the Kinect when I get a job)

EDIT!!!!: I should say this now, I want her to get a PS3 not just for me P) but for us (mainly us) we played the Scott Pilgrim game on my Xbox and she LOVED it, I just want to have lots of fun with her and I know the PS3 has lots of fun CO-OP games and I KNOW she'd absolutely love LBP2 (I'm gonna see if I can get my friend's PS3 for the weekend when she's here and play LBP 2 with her) I just don't want to see her waste her money on something that has so little games and not fun ones (from what I've heard of the Kinect)

EDIT 2!!!: Now that I think about it, she'd hardly be playing it as well, so it'd be a waste if she bought either, she goes to this school thing from Monday to Friday and she has other stuff all through the week (except for Monday, Thursday, Friday, and the weekend) but she's with me the days she is available, she'd hardly get time to play either system. So when she's here with me, she's already playing the Xbox

I suppose you don't live together, so its hard to persuade her without that 'chip' on the table. There isn't much on the move she might enjoy RIGHT NOW, but try and get her to play LBP2 at least ahead of time before the time to lay down some cash comes along, that might help.

I don't think it's really your business to be deciding what your girlfriend buys.

I see a pattern emerging.

The girl can buy what she wants, it's for her & not for you.

She's not very good at video games so I can't really even imagine why she'd want the Kinect/Xbox.

This is also hilarious & I have no idea what you mean buy it, I wasn't aware Kinect had some godly skill level that required dedication to play it over other motion controls.

From your wording, it sounds as if you want the PS3 so that you can play it. If you have an Xbox and she has an Xbox, you guys can play online together. You can start to teach he how to play videogames (if you think you can handle that). Also, I have played the Kinect (but not the Move) and I found it to be very enjoyable and would be easy for anyone to play it. Move seems more involved.

If she wants a Xbox, be supportive. Please do not be a jerk.

No I want you to help me, tell me all the pros of the PS3 I use to own one and found it lots of fun, I do think though that she would love the idea of being able to go on the internet with it (she even asked me once if I could go on the internet with the 360 and she thinks it's retarded that I can't)

I know I'd get really annoyed if my boyfriend tried to convince me out of buying something for the reasons that you've stated. Personally, it strikes me as a bit self-centered for you to think that she should buy something other than what she has already decided she wants, just on the basis of you already having the system.

Now, as I don't own a PS3, I can't compare it to my 360. Perhaps if you said what kind of video games she likes, or what her reasons are for wanting a 360 in the first place, it would seem a bit more reasonable that you're trying to convince her out of her decision? At the moment, though, I don't agree with your attempts to dissuade her, so I can't really contribute more than that.

You know, most of my friends know that I am, at heart, a huge PS3 fanboy and even I think you should just let your girlfriend get whatever she wants. I mean, all of my girl buddies are dying to get a Kinect so they can play with the adorable Kinectimals, and if your girlfriend also wants that, who are you to stop her from getting it? it is worse than all the others, at least with Kinect you can pretend you're in Minority Report.
