Oh oh . I completely forgot. Great teacher Onizuka, one of my favorite animes and manga (need the last 4 of 25 manga volumes to complete my collection). I went through an obsessive streak in reading the manga, watching the anime, watching the live action show and then the movie of the live action show. Awesome stuff, which I highly recommend for a laugh!

The evangelion series is also being remade spanning 4 episode long movie type shows. The animation quality is superb and I know that a few of the angels have been graphically remade. It's a good way to get into the evangelion eruies while having something pretty to look at. Digitally remastered Misato ftw.

Thanks for all the help, ill check out some stuff u guys found, but to be honest, ive seen and enjoyed alot of the suggested animes, so im gunna check the ones i haven't (seen FMA, and hellsing, and Dragon ball Z(which i hate), as well as Gundam (wing was the only good one and i will fight to the death with anyone who disagrees)
First off, I think we've been over the "alot" "a lot" thing, also I agree with your Gundam Wing verdict.

As for recommendations, I absolutely, fucking love FLCL! It is my favorite anime of all time.

And you can't go wrong with Cowboy Bebop, or Trigun. Outlaw Star is an absolute classic. Yu Yu Hakusho (for the first 2 seasons anyway) is great for its lack of fillers, and Rurouni Kenshin is great for its enjoyable fillers.

As far as more recent ones go, Code Geass, and Code Geass R2 are awesome. I can't find words to describe The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumia. Lucky Star is really an "acquired" taste, but it couldn't hurt to check it out.

For shows that are still running, Soul Eater is pretty good, and Casshern Sins is... wow, just wow.

Hope that helps.

My favorite anime is Monster.
I really cannot recommend that series enough; it's bloody genius.

I'm also partial to Haibane Renmei, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Ergo Proxy, and Gunslinger Girl.

Why has there only been one mention of GITS? (Ghost in the shell)

Superb soundtrack
Intelligent, paced and enthralling plot
Characters.. with personalities, much anime lacks this
Epicness
Very, very well dubbed.

I'll admit, i'm not a massive anime fan, i like about 4 of the things. But GITS is the best of those and i have plenty of big anime-fan friends who are with me when i say it's one of the best out there.
there has been more than one mention. but how could i have missed this brilliant anime when compiling my brilliant anime list of brilliance. i was even wearing my Laughing man shirt that day. anyway GiTS SAC is brilliant.

My personal favorites would be the ones under this line. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to give a synopsis of the plot and quality for each one, so I linked them to Wikipedia. Do your own bloody research!

Trigun [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigun]

Gensomaden Saiyuki [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gensomaden_Saiyuki] NOTE: The original Saiyuki is much better than Reload. Keep this in mind.

Gundam: 8th MS Team [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8th_MS_Team]

Dai Guard [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dai_Guard]

Monster [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_(anime)] NOTE: This has to be my personal favorite.

Witch Hunter Robin [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch_Hunter_Robin]

Tenipuri (AKA Prince of Tennis) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenipuri]

And there you have it. By personal preference, I recommend you watch them subbed. That's just my opinion, though.

EDIT: How could I forget Cowboy Bebop [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_bebop]?
