The Bengals

That's depressing enough, right?

Serious names: Banshee, Bakunawa (Phillipine god of the underworld, usually depicted as a sea serpent). Thats all I got.

A suggestion-A name I wanted to give to a band I made but I doubt I will ever make one- call the band 'Deadlight' or 'Deadlights' Its from Stephen Kings It. The Deadlights are another realm beyond ours that the monster from the book was created in.

My friend and I (who are the least metal people ever) decided if we ever start a metal band it'll be called Asphyxiation Catastrophe.

The band would have 7 vocalists. One bassist (his bass would only have one string) and a guy behind four Bass drums all with double pedal.

Go into a bookstore and look at book titles. They really often make good band names.

I think that would make a great name for a metal band.
As mentioned above, most of the names are already bands/albums/songs. In my opinion, you should try and go for some originality. Something that wouldn't normally make you think it was a metal band, maybe...

How about "The Generic Metal Band" or "The Couldn't-Think-Of-A-Name Band"? Seems appropriate.

I would have suggested "The Harlequins" after the psychopathic group of the same name from "The Traveller" series of books alternatively if you can find any lovecraftian type phrases that arn't trademarked I suggest looking into them. How hardcore a metal group are you going for? Singing or screaming? Makes a difference in terms of possible names.

Maybe something less generic, and something that has meaning. This could be just me, but I really like it when bands make references to high literature or art; it at least gives the feeling that they're deep. With that in mind, here's an idea:

Sir Thomas of Warwick
--This person is the last knight of King Arthur's reign in "The Once and Future King," by T.H. White. Just before Arthur's final battle, which he knows will be his last, he pulls aside one of his pages, whose name is Tom, and commands him to not fight in the battle, but to go home and live in peace, and tell all who will listen of King Arthur and his fight against injustice and tyranny. As the boy says goodbye, Arthur knights him Sir Thomas of Warwick.
