That I can understand. It's always been very convenient to have split the races into 2 factions, and the Pandaren definitely seem more the alliance type. It really wouldn't make sense to fight the same race now after they'd laid it out so well. I guess since it's been requested for awhile and you can only choose one side on one server, they probably think they are doing the fans service by giving them extra choices. It still works like that, right?

Hahaha, that was Kung Fu Panda if I've ever seen him.

Hell, the environments looks pretty. I'd buy that if I had even an ounce of knowledge of how WoW was played.

But from what I've heard about the community, it seems that there is legitimately no way anyone will like this.

First off, the Pandaren aren't Alliance aligned, if people would read the original post, they would understand that, second, the same race iun both factions won't make problems. Think about it. A full plate goblin and a full plate gnome are pretty much identical, the same goes for Tauren and Draenei. People identify enemies or friends by the color of their names.

It's a panda. PAN-DA. as in, p-a-n-d-a. Also known as ADORABLE.

Aren't pandas considered one of the stupidest animals on the planet?

OT: Pokemon in my WoW? GTFO! I mean what really blizzard? What i would lime to see though is blizzard team up with the pokemon company and make a Pokemon MMO . I'd buy that in a heartbeat. But not an ongoing MMO , one that has a defined end like pokemon while keeping the stats or all the pokemon.
Please, explain to me WHY you mean this, that's the whole point of this thread.

You do know that the Pandaren have existed for much longer than Kung Fu Panda? Appearantly people don't read the original post.

Who cares if a "Pokemon" thing is in the game, it makes those useless things useful, if it will be fun I don't give a damn if it doesn't fit

Edit: And the monk class, finally! Using your bare fists in that game is entirely useless except for giving yourself stupid challenges, adding a bare fisted martial arts class seems like a logical step

Well , i was half exagerating in my original post , ( gimme a sec , i'ma turn off my douchbag mode) but honestly , i think it is way too gimmicky an idea . Although i do know that gimmicks are a big part of MMOs( TF2 hats anyone?) this seems like a cheap attempt to get people excited . I will really have to see the mechanics for myself to make a proper opinion of it , but my first impression is that it is just another way to make a quick buck. Some people will came back to WoW just to see how this thing works , getting blizzard at least 2 months subcription from these people . If they like it ( or accidently get addicted again ) they might stay making blizzard more money , if they don't well blizz makes money off the little time they subscribed. Plus making a cheap imatation of something popular , to make money is one of my pet peeves so i might be a little bias ( i mean do you honestly think, the pet fighting thing will be as complex as pokemon?). To add to that i can totally see blizzard selling exclusive fighting pets for real money to give certain people an advantage if this thing does become popular in wow .

The whole concept stinks of cheap money making business ploy . The worst part is , it will work.

First off, I don't think anyone expects it to be as complex as Pokémon, but merely another thing to do, also, you're annoyed by the fact that they want to make money? Really? But thank you for actually elaborating.

Arent't they adding Etherals as playable as well?
After five years of WoW, I'm done with it. So, so done. Still, had I still played, this wouldn't have bothered me that much. And hey, new class! Cool.

No, they're not adding Etherals. Ethereals will show up in the capitals with transmogrification and void storage.

First off, I never said the Pandaren were alliance aligned. I just said they seem more like the alliance type, because I like to share my opinion for the fun of it. I would rather they have a new horde race to go with them.

Second, I never said it would make problems. I said it wouldn't make sense after all this time to have neutral races after they split all the other weird races down the line. I reckon that's one of the things that makes WOW unique, how all these races on both sides work together for their own reasons, it's an interesting fellowship they have going. Also, when I said convenient, I mean that they have their own land for each race, how is this going to work for the Pandaren?

The Pandaren characters start on the back of a giant turtle called "The Wandering Homeland". So I guess that's their land.

I'd like to see 'em do that and actually make it wander around the map. I doubt they will though.

Part of the reason is that Blizzard has, for a long time, been rather against making Panderen a full race, despite a fair number of fan requests for them. Now that they've decided to put them in, after subs have started falling, it's just feels like... I don't want to say it. Nope. Not gonna.

...

...

Fine. It feels like pandering.

There are other reason. The whole, "can join either faction" thing seems to ignore all that "recognise race/class by silhouette" they've worked on. Sure, you can still recognise race/class; just not weather or not they'll be trying to kill you.

Another thing is the addition of a new class. I know people will always be asking for new classes, but Blizz had a massive problem getting 9 both remotely balanced and equally useful. Putting in a 10 seriously messed stuff up, and now the impression is that they'll keep adding stuff.

And then you've got to question why they chose to visit this area which had been largely nonexistent in the lore and which seems rather unexciting compared to possible expansion locations like the Twisting Nether (which we were suppose to reach after BC), the Emerald Dream, and, well, those are the only two I can think of, other than maybe Undermine, but they still seem like much more sensible choices than Pandaria.

Basically, half the stuff in this expansion scream "Jumped the Shark" to me.

No, those positions are held by sheep and turkeys... and maybe goats.

The only question I have for Blizzard is how are they going to get this to their fanbase in China? China has (or at least had) a law banning the depiction of the death, harm, molestation, etc. of one of their national animals. This has come up in several games (Pandas were at one point intended as a tamable pet in Guild Wars) and the situations always ended with the game designers removing the Pandas. So what are they going to do? Not release a Chinese edition of Wow? Is the Department of Culture or w/e it's called gonna edit the hell out of the Panderans and make them grizzly bears or something?
