Um. I don't know what to say really. The best advice I can give you is to keep seeing your doctor and try and do things to keep your mind off things. It might also be a good idea to speak with your family, or if you are not comfortable talking to them then try a close friend.

In all serious-ness, don't you have better things to do then make stupid threads like this?
Don't you have better things to do than post on it if you think my problem is so stupid?
Nope.

But in all seriousness. Increase the content in your posts, man.

Manic Depressive Disorder? As much as I would like to help, you weren't exactly helping yourself out there by being so vague with your OP. A lot of people are going to have difficulty taking this seriously now.

However, as someone who is in very much the same situation, I can honestly say that even the smallest thing might be able to end this particular "phase" (put in quotations because I don't know what else to call it). Try something that could serve as a distraction. One of the best examples of this are games. You are on a gaming website, this is a logical course of action to follow. The only other thing I can say with the information I've been provided with is that, should you continue to feel this way, you may want to consider seeking the help of a person who can engage you in conversation, as well as the search for a possible solution, in a more in depth manner than us, the forces of the anonymous.

thankyou, that helped, at the moment I am trying to simultaniously trying to block out the outside world and put myself back into a state of happiness from my childhood by organising a huge box on kinex into their proper lengths, shapes and colours, sad i know, but at least it's keeping my mind off things. And yes, Bi-polar, I think the only person on the site who knew about it was 3W.... and he's tried in the past.

Hahaha, sry mate I thought this was one of those joke posts. Well don't know what to say.... Try watching a good comedy or an inspiring movie, or listen to a funny band (I recommend The Vandals). Or just go to sleep. Best thing to do when things go to hell is to say fuck it and just sleep it off.

Glad I could help, and I think you've got the right idea. Do something enjoyable, listen to some music, and I guess just try and get yourself into a state where you're not stressed out or worried about anything. I myself often take to creative writing when in a similar situation as the one you're in now, but the general idea is just that you do something you like to do.

If you're under the age of 18, the best thing you can do for yourself is realize that all you have to do is wait until you get a chance to get out on your own and 'find yourself' (as fucking cliche as it sounds, its true).

Also, get some perspective. How bad are things for you, really? Its hard for us to say because we have so few details, but its never so bad that it won't get better.

If the world didn't suck we would all fall off. If I'm in a tough situation I just think of people who have it worse and then be glad I'm not then (schadenfreude). Then look back to them and feel bad about yourself because they are still making a living and have it worse off than you and you still want to complain how your life sucks. Well you can still complain but at least acknowledge that your spoiled enough to complain about those things first.

Okay, what is the problem, your OP is vague, very very vague.
I've been suffering from depression for a long time among other things, no one else has helped, and the escapist community is a very smart bunch of people, at the moment i'm in a bad way, and i have a feeling it's going to get worse, as for the feelings, you know, the general life is pointless, i hae nothing etc, at least i am cunning in my madness.
Alot of us have been there before man.

Personally for me, i started working out, hard, whenever that would happen. It would be a big enough of a distraction for me, plus i actaully started to enjoy it, got me in decent shape again to.

Good luck man, remember always keep distracted when your like that

Play a video game you like, or watch a movie, TV Show, etc.

Just do some stuff you like and see if that helps.

1) I agree with Sleekgiant. If you wanted actual help instead of mockery then a more detailed post would have sufficed. Half-assed writing will get a half-assed response.

2) If you believe you are medically depressed then get a second opinion from various doctors. Don't just take one doctors opinion. Medical depression is a serious problem and no one wants to see it take a turn for the worse.

3) If you are trolling or if you have non-medical depression then I say H-H-Harden the fuck up.

I'm not trolling, and I'm sorry if i can't give details, some of them are a little too personal to put out on the internet.

What kind of medication are you on? And it is Bi-polar Type 1 or 2? I understand where you're coming from though.

But you can ask us, your favorite internet gaming forum, to help you with your debilitating mental problems?

C'mon, throw us a bone.

I feel for you there then, I think I have it badly being Type 2..
All I can advise is, is there anyone or anything that makes you particularly happy? Associate yourself with those things as much as possible as quickly as you can, I know it always cheers me up.

That's fine but your first post was just "help me, my mind is trying to get me killed."

I mean what are we supposed to think from this? What possible advice or help could we give you? I'm not trying to be mean. I would like to think most of us clicked on this to help out.

Step-by-Step advice:

1) Go to Doctors.
2) If you aren't medically depressed; get a second opinion and even a third.
3) If it turns out you are not medically depressed and do not require medication:
a- Ask family/friends for help and consolation.
b- Ask significant other (if applicable) to go out and do something special.
c- Realize just how lucky you are in comparison to starving children dying of aids in Africa.
d- Use this opportunity to personally reflect on your life and analyze if it is going in the right direction. If not, then maybe it's time to take a different path or follow your dreams.
e- Continue with your hobbies. If you don't have any then maybe it's time to try something new. Try going to the YMCA/Community Centre/etc to see if your talented at anything else. Maybe writing / painting / music / sports / etc.
f- Take all the money you have been saving and go on a holiday. Money is MEANT to be spent after all and what better way then to spend it on yourself so you can wind down? Take some time off work. Don't plan anything, just randomly drive somewhere, find a beach, put your feet up and let all the responsibilities wash away.
g- LAST RESORT - Hookers.

Did any of that help? I realize much of it is common sense but hey what else could you be asking for?
