Don't turn DC in a campy childish mockery of itself Warner Bros. please. This is just a regression to kid's stuff.

And what pisses me off more is that this is gonna be more well reiceived than Mark Hamill's performance of the Joker in The Killing Joke.

I don't see the problem aside from it being potentially super unfunny. So they want to do an homage to Adam West Batman big fucking deal, its not exactly as though the world is starved for a new grittier Batman.

A friend showed me this, and all I have to say is...

Though that same friend pointed out that this sounds, sadly, like a 'Do it before they're dead' project. Which is sad.

But besides that...

We're getting an Adam West movie! FUCKING EXCELLENT!

This actually looks like tons of fun. I always liked that show.
I didn't.

Even as a kid I hated Adam West because my first exposure to Batman was the freakin Animated Series and I still love that Batman to this day.

Brave and the Bold was a great TV show that had a finale where they made fun of people so intent on making a dark, edgy batman cartoon that the Bat-Mite actively tried to get BATB canceled.

I am looking forward to an Adam West batman film.

Smok?

The animation looks okay-ish. I don't mind the tone, there can be some great OUTRAGEOUS fun in camp.

The animated series was still by and large a kids' series.
But it had a surpising amount of maturity and adult moments.
And an episode that payed excellent tribute to Adam West's Batman.

Hooray, at Batman with more emotions than dark-and-broody.

I've been missing that.

That episode was brilliant, especially the ending.

When Bat-Mite succeeds, he unwittingly destroys himself, as someone like Bat-Mite can't exist in a serious animated Batman show. But he says it's ok, because different isn't bad, and we'll always be able to enjoy this series, even if they're not making it any more.

Deliciously meta for such a ridiculous show, and a lesson I think we can all learn.

"Jaywalking is extremely dangerous."
Ah shit, you're right batman."

I like the idea. If it's actually funny then it could be awesome. They should seriosly cancel that Dawn of Justice film no one wants and make a superfriends movie instead.

My all time favorite episode will always be the one where Adam West played a washed up actor who used to play a superhero

That's doesn't mean it wasn't a kids show though. Kids deserve better than trash. It's why steven universe is so good.
Having gone back and revisited B:TAS, you're 100% correct. People forget this, or nostalgia has blinded them, but TAS is a kids show. It's highly episodic, nothing matters between episodes, and there a LOT of clunkers in the series run. Not every episode is gonna be Mr Freeze's or Clayface's origin story, a very adult and well-written plot.

And after the massive bummer that was the recent The Killing Joke adaptation, as a die-hard massive Batman and overall DC fan who unlike some fair-weather mother****ers, I've read years, decades of Batman from 1980-now, and any I missed I've caught up on either through a wiki or 80% of the time, going back through Amazon or Comixology and catching up (favorite underrated Batman story? The Cult), I've grown to find TKJ comic massively overrated and I honestly think it and The Dark Knight Returns are poisonous to Batman right now, because they're both Batman stories with huge flaws and the character of Batman is not what I think Batman is- Batman is flawed, but he's not damaged and broken, and he never thinks he's wrong. I think The Killing Joke is the worst DC animated movie they've made. I've loved every one of them, every single one of them, and anything it tried to do, Justice League: Gods and Monsters did much better.

Mark Hamill as The Joker is the one thing that makes me really want to see The Killing Joke. For all of its faults, I really liked The Joker's lines in that story and I've always wanted to hear Hamill do them. As for Return of the Caped Crusader, it looks like it's going to be really damn good! Maybe even on the same level as New Frontier! Of course the absolute, number-1 thing I want to see out of DC comics is animated adaptations of stories that don't revolve around or feature Batman. It's getting kind of ridiculous at this point but it's understandable: More people would buy a film adaptation of Batman: Fortunate Sun than they would Blue and Gold or, Lobo's Back.

I know. Alejandro must have borrowed from the same playbook as Aranofsky.

Ch.1 stealing from an animated series
Ch.2 writing your oscar speech.

I kid. Birdman was cool.

I DID grow up on alot of this stuff, you know. The Animated Series became the superior model, but we still love Adam West.
