I second that, not as much as for personality as for how his behaviour is handled by his peers. So here he is, a miracle boy, famous on account of... being famous, and everything in the world revolves around him. In RL, he'd probably be the most hated kid in school, if only out of jealousy...

A few years ago there was a lot of gushing over this movie called The Matador that starred Pierce Brosnan. It was supposed to be this really good thriller/character study type movie that was actually a celebrity vehicle in which the worst Bond played a pedophile manchild. I loathed that character.

I hate Rico in Killzone. I started playing Killzone 2, and after the first word he said, I was hoping he'd died. Sadly, he lives on.

Vaan - Final Fantasy XII. I still can't tell if it's a boy or a girl, and I played the damn game.

Movie: Pretty much anything with Will Ferrell in a comedy role. I think he's just an idiot when playing those. His non comedic work is great, though.

Book: Umm...too many easy targets. I'll just put titles here because most popular things now have horrifyingly bad protagonists. Harry Potter, Twilight, Anita Blake, Dime Store Magic, etc.
