And for ruining what could have been a decent book? If she counts as the hero in that book, Bella. I fucking HATE Bella.Hubilub said:Honorable mention to Bella from Twilight for being a manipulative *****.

Dude, that was the point of the cartoon's entire existence. I'm not saying he wasn't irritating, but preachy educational speeches were his purpose in life.Cosmic Naginata said:Captain Planet - I don't mind heroes who are goody-goody if its because their principled just dont be preachy about it or give educational speeches.
I honestly think a cardboard box might just have more personality. More personality that absolutely none at all. I'm with you on this one, it doesn't make much sense to have fans that attached to Gordon when he doesn't even speak...Casual Shinji said:Gordon Freeman
But that's mainly due to the fact so many fans adore him eventhough he has the motivation and personality of a cardboard box
Being a mute wouldn't be such a problem if we could see him emote, but, being a first person action game, the best we can hope for is expressive hand gestures...and he doesn't even do that!ProfessorLayton said:I honestly think a cardboard box might just have more personality. I personally found myself more connected with even Marcus Fenix from Gears of War than I did with Gordon. I guess that's what made Half-Life different. He didn't have a personality. He was a blank canvas, and in fact it made it feel more like it was me doing this stuff. I felt like I was Gordon Freeman because of his lack of emotions. Hopefully you understand what I mean... Marcus Fenix was a better character, but Gordon sort of made it feel like it was me doing all this stuff as if I was actually in the game.TexaNigerian said:Being a mute wouldn't be such a problem if we could see him emote, but, being a first person action game, the best we can hope for is expressive hand gestures...and he doesn't even do that!
Well,it is one of the reasons why WRPGs are eclipsing JRPGs in popularity these days.(I purchased Dragon Age Origins:Awakenings over Final Fantasy XIII myself) I understand completely.ProfessorLayton said:I personally found myself more connected with even Marcus Fenix from Gears of War than I did with Gordon. Although I can't really say anything in Marios defense, I can't help but think you're wrong as far as Link is concerned. You see the Legend of Zelda game are all completely separate storys, to put it bluntly although Gannon kidnaps Zelda who is in turn rescued by Link is recycled every other installment it is never the same Gannon kidnapping the same Zelda who is then rescued by the same Link. Heck according to Nintendo most of the Hyrules these events take place in are on completely separate plains of existence from one another not even sharing a time line (though some of them do, ie. Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker).Kevlar Eater said:Mario and Link: No matter how many times they rescue the damsel in distress from the same enemy, said ladies will never give the heroes the time of day, let alone some bedroom action. Logically speaking, if the women keep getting "kidnapped" by the same villain, they're more than likely whores suffering from Stockholm syndrome. Any ordinary guy would have gotten the clue on the second or third rescue. Any more than that and it isn't a coincidence.
I guess it's a good thing he doesn't even exist in the video game huh?Kevlar Eater said:Tidus (FFX): A bad character altogether. The whole laughing scene made me want to throw a brick in his mouth. That, and the daddy issues.
Hm, I knew he won best video game charictar or somthing like that on gamestop but I didnt know about the "Best Gaming Personality" you have a point, that does make no sense.MetalDooley said:Yes but my point still stands. How can a guy with no personality of his own regularly win "Best Gaming Personality" or whatever. That's like a silent character(of which he is one)winning a best voice award.Makes no sense to meAngus565 said:Beacause by not having a personality, you can decide his personality to your liking.MetalDooley said:This.I can never understand how he regularly tops best gaming character polls and the like. The guy has no character or personalityCasual Shinji said:Gordon Freeman
