I run out of ammo with the AN-94 in BFBC2 all the time, often going to reload and finding only four rounds in my magazine. That rifle is just so much fun to use! Good thing I can resupply myself.

Fallout 3 at the start of the game was classic for that. I played as a stealth sniper, and with the broken sniper mechanics the one shot I missed cost me a lot. Once I played operation anchorage all my woes dissolved because I could snipe and just run away invisible!

When not using Scavenger Pro( or regular) in MW2 the guns eat ammo so quickly had too many moments when i had to frantically searh for ammunition.

Im usually a compulsive reloader, But every now and again ill run round a corner on MW2, see an enemy, Fire three bullets and then hear "Click" and my guy will start reloading.

Usually followed by Death & Obsenities.

Theres a lot of games where i sit and think "I wish i had more ammo" - SR2 is one of those games.

this is why I always master the melee of any game, whether it be resident evil, or L4d. I never reload my gun when I should, and I never get ammo when I should, since i don't really pay attention to that stuff. I'm starting to learn, but it won't be changing any time soon.

Rule 1: ALWAYS HOARD AMMO!
Rule 2: Conserve as much as possible. Shoot until the enemy is dead, and then stop. NO OVERKILL!
Rule 3: Sticky grenades, thrown into groups of baddies, are your highly amusing friends.

Yeah, that's all I got.

I'm extremely compulsive about ammo. I refuse to allow myself to run out of it EVER, or even get anywhere NEAR running out (in an FPSRPG type thing). During online play, CoD's probably the worst for me, but even then, I'm admittedly usually not good enough to survive long enough to run out.

Red Faction Guerilla. Well, the guns are really a formality to give enemies something to use. It's all about the hammer.

Usually doesn't happen to me. In games like Fallout I tend to be a walking armoury, and I always make sure I have a gun with plenty of ammo.

In Army of Two, my friend usually uses his Deagle as opposed to an assault rifle so if my Aug ever runs out we just swap guns and he gives it back when it's got more ammo.

I'm constantly running out of ammo in everything because I resort way to damn quickly to spray-n-pray. My average encounter goes something like this:

"Controlled burst...
He's still alive
Ok, unload on him!"

I always happened to run out of ammunition in Resident Evil 4. I ended up in a lot of battles where I'd frantically knife people just so they'd drop some ammo. Usually, they dropped money instead. AAAAAAAAAARGH
That always happened to me at the most crucial moments, like when you're protecting Ashley while she lowers the bridges in the castle. She's almost dead, I quickly knife the two guys coming at me aaaaand... "Ohhhhhhhh good, more herbs...." I think I restarted the game because I kept running out of ammo there, and that was one of the very few games where I actually did conserve ammo. If they'd started me off with a machine gun, or other automatic weapon, I would've been screwed.

Ahh, playing Co-op with my friend on RE5.

Our frantic screams at each other when we realized knives were out only choice.

After awhile we developed the strategy of, I run in melee and he backs me up with cover fire.

That way I took out most enemies with the cattle prod and he sniped anything i could bludgencute to death. So i would have loads of shotgun, pistol ammo and he would have tons of sniper ammo and some MG ammo for Oh shit moments.

In L4D2. Especially with the SG552. I swear that thing has the lowest ammo size for it's gun type.

This was happening to me in Deus Ex the other day. Until I found the lightsaber.

It's not a nanotech sword, it's a damn lightsaber.

Stop correcting me.

Zwom.. fwoosh.. zwom... swish (*AAARGH*) "Man, this thing is sharp."
I could watch your avatar for hours...

OT: Running out of ammo really sucks in a survival horror game, such as RE4.

Knifing people and kicking everything in sight really gets your blood pumping.

I was thinking the same thing, thats cool and messed up at the same time.

OT:
my problem is the opposite actually.
I usually have a small weapon that I use the entire time and stockpile the big weapon ammo.
but I take that to the extreme.
in resident evil 4 I end up with like 200 shots for the shotgun, but still use the knife/handgun combo.
I do that in boss fights to, thinking that the boss will have a bigger form afterwards(even if I know it doesnt) and when I kill it its like "ah well, more ammo for the next boss ^_^"
but I never use that gun, beat resi4 with the handgun you start with.
