I'm starting to feel more "kind-hearted" towards the idea now, still kind of iffy, but I hope that Capcom and Ninja Theory can pull it off right.

Though I did like this little addition someone posted up on the DmC forums at Capcom Unity:

A perfect use of the reaction guys in my opinion.

Things I expect in a DMC game:
Over-the-top action
Over-the-top cut-scenes
Over-the-top characters

I'm kinda stuck on the lower end of the neutral zone right now. I don't want to like this, as it seems to have very little in common with the Son of Sparda we all know, but I'm willing to wait and see if it plays right. Its just that... with this kinda look I really doubt you'll have those moments that really stand out as uh... Dante-ish, like when Dante got the Lucifer Devil Arm in 4. I'm tempted to say that DMC is the Japanese hack-n-slash Duke Nukem franchise, but that isn't entirely true. There is a pretty strong story behind the games reinforced by other media. I really don't know what to think. Honestly though, from where I'm standing now, I'd rather a Devil May Cry 5 than a "dmc".

Devil may cry was a horrible series full of weak dialogue, and an absurd plot line following an unlikable cretin. A character redesign would do wonders for the series. I mean the worst case scenario is that it is more of the same mindless drivel; best case scenario is that it DNF's itself for a decade or two.

I'm going to keep an open mind here and guess this is a prelude, which would justify and make sense of the new art style, a punk rock mess of a teenager does fit my initial impression of what Dante would of been as a teen

Look at the way his head is tilted forward in the mugshot. It looks like he's insecure in his own badassery, and is overtly trying to be intimidating; almost like he doesn't believe that he could punch through a wood block. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall Dante being insecure at all.

Hmm, I don't really see the resemblance. If anything, he looks downright moody.

I like everything i've seen so far about the game. And i'm a DMC Fan of the first minute.

DMC needed the change or we just would've had another Series ala Megaman.

The City looks awesome. Dante really looks like some kind of fucked up project. Which seems realistic. I think this is exactly what would happen if humans find out we have Demons among us.

Thanks NT for having the balls to actually change something about the formula.

Edit: To anyone who thinks he's emo: What's emo? It's not just the dark hair and lipstick. It's more about how people react to certain situation. Id' like to remind everyone of you of the scene from the first DMC were Trish died. Remember that scene, and don't tell me his line wasn't cheesy and god-damn-emo.

He looks totally like a Punk, which would make sense. Dante in DMC3 was just an Adrenalin Junkie. But this Dante looks more like the guy the Dante from the first one would become.

To be honest I think he looks awful. I thought the whole deal with Dante was that he was supposed to be really cool while still looking stylish in a "clean" way. This dude looks like a stoner who has been pulled right of the street. The game might still be good though, however I am not a fan of the redesign.
