Most people will get the chance to meet their heros, such as a Musician, comedian, artist and so on and so on.
I also doubt he meant he was "literally" dying because someone he likes is on this forum.
Its kind of like how I "Have been dying to see Iron Maiden" live... I would love to see them live, but I am not dead because of it.

As opposed to trying to addage sarcasm into the Literally, I would've just put 'FIGURATIVELY'.
