I am rather steady handed. I can be quite precise in games, so high sensitivity is better for me.

But do you guys feel it to be an advantage?
Definitely an advantage. The fact that I gain the advantage of quick turning, and that I still maintain good accuracy makes it a superiority.

My advice; learn to be accurate with high sensitivity. If you are unable to perform with high accuracy, it might be either the surface on which your mouse resides on, or your mouse. The third cause can be that you are a n00b.
Or maybe fourth... my aiming isn't as skilled as some players.

I hardly think that constitutes being a 'noob'.

God, I hate that word...
It would appear you didn't detect my mockery of the word. I was using it as ridicule.

Some people are steady handed, and some aren't. If you feel that you are completely ridiculous in high sensitivity, you might be better of using either middle or low. But if you think a little of practice will solve your issue, I say try and play with it for a while.
It's funny, high sensitivity seems to be a lot easier for berzerker running and gunning with an mp5 but when I go back to my trusty AK47 it just flies all over the place when I try to use it...

I think it is indeed just a matter of practice, my buddy uses high and says its a big advantage.

Thanks for the advice... not bad for a 'nOOb' :p
You're welcome... fucking n00b... o.o

I use a higher sensitivity, but not the default high one, if you catch my drift. That's too quick, whilst the medium is too slow. If inbetween I can turn quickly and still be able to aim well.

I feel that any lower would be a disadvantage, since playing on a lower sensitivity feels cumbersome and awkward, a sensitivity to me should feel natural, not done based on what you think is more advantageous.

I use Custom sensitivity on CoD4, one blip higher than High. It's very useful for my Shotgun class, and once you get the hang of compensating for it, it's great for sniper rifles, too.

Sorry to bump this thread but I'm curious to hear more peoples views.

For example, has anyone started on medium, gone on to high and sucked at it but then gone on to get used to it and find it a big help?

I'm still getting used to high, it feels so much better and more fun but I still have trouble aming sometimes.

This is mainly directed towards controllers.

I found that the higher, the better, but it was a gradual change. Heck, it's still happening. I play on high sensitivity in Gears of War, but in actual first-person shooters I'm still at the high end of medium.

Is it an analogue stick or a mouse? I find it to be an advantage either way, but I have dexterous, steady fingers. It is (in my opinion) easier to teach yourself to aim with a high sensitivity mouse than analogue controller as you can just slide it in small incriments or 'tilt' it rather than have to try and 'flick' (like most console gamers who play with high sensitivity tend to do).

Out of low medium or high, high, when it's a scale like CoD4 I usually have it on medium to start, then slowly work my way up to higher sensitivities.

I switch between 6 and 7 (out of 10) depending on how well I'm doing that day, if I'm sniping or not, and various other factors. Usually play on 7.

well, it depends on the game, for example in Halo combat evolved i had to play it in "insane" sensitivity, it helped a lot when playing online (they run too fast for normal settings)

in MW i tryed insane but as the game is not that fast i found it too much to work with

and in Gears of war, no matter what sensitivity i placed it, it always felt the same so i didnt changed it

I found I had to change to high in Gears after playing COD. It feels way too slow and clunky otherwise.

For FPSes like Quake I always pick high sensitivity. I want to be able to do a complete turn by twitching.

Stick sensivity? Sorry, but i'm a PC gamer, and mouse is much more handy for aiming - i don't need to change mouse sensivity in games whatsoever.
Really? I change my mouse sensitivity on the fly to match my current situation, be it sniping, meleeing or just simple twitch shooting.

Whatever the game is set on. I don't mess with the settings
Same here... I find "High" is too much so, and "Low" is molasses... Unless it's a game that seriously needs it, I leave it at default...

Same here. I usually just leave it. If, however, it's extremely fast, then I'll change it, and if it's too slow, I'll change it. Usually it's just right though...

I leave it wherever the default is. I couldn't be bothered getting used to another setting, even if it's apparently superior.

I think more often than not, the natural feeling setting is the most advantageous.
