Highschool of the Dead is F***ING awesome!

For those of you who dont know Highschool of the Dead is a bran new anime about a zombie apocalypse in Japan, and the main characters are none other the Highschool students. It has everything a good zombie films is know for : blood, boobs, and the freakiest moments in zombie history that are so fucked up you feel both awesome and disturbed that it gives you goose bumps. so far there's only three episodes but trust me when I say you'll get hooked in just the first 10mins.
So I want to hear either your opinions or just say that you'll watch it and come back and post about it. Trust me you wont be disappointed.

Is there an English dub?

Its a bit...blatant with it's fanservice.

That's probably the most vast and gigantic understatement of the century.

I remember one part of the manga where all the guys are freaking out about how to deal with the zombies, but its showing all the girls taking a very steamy bath

Got through the first episode before deciding this is really boring.

I mean, it's really something we have all seen before. And all this close up on panties and jiggly tits is honestly so out of place it just feels stupid.

I'll pass... but that's just me. I'm sure some find it interesting.

Watched the first 2 episodes on youtube just now,i have 2 complaints.

1.there is a boing sound coming from that nurse when she moves(not hard to guess why.)

2.all the episode names are shown in english(does japan hate kanji or something because last time i checked its the national alphabet.)

Yes. Because it is so bloody hard.

... or, they think the English looks better. Kinda like they did with Evangelion, ie use the other alphabet thing they have, because it looked cooler.

I think in this case it might be because the series and episode titles are references to George Romero's Living Dead series movie titles. Just a guess though, could also just be because Japan thinks it's cool to shove random English in places.

And on the OT:

I'm not a real big fan of anime with a lot of fan service because in my experience usually high fanservice means subpar story and uninteresting characters so I almost passed this one over. I'm glad I didn't though 'cause this series kicks ass. I'm definitely picking up the BDs once they hit the US, hopefully Funimation get's it for localization and drops a decent dub so I can show my anti-sub friends.

Wish they would tone down the fanservice quite a bit though, there were several scenes where I felt it ruined the tension and plenty of shots wasted on just showing it. I'm fine with fanservice just happening, maybe it's a action scene and the camera is just in a convenient place for example, but nothing takes you out of the show like inserting shots just to show close ups randomly through the show.

Also, bonus points: So many references to classic zombie movies all over the place! Who caught the Shaun of the Dead reference in episode 3!?

I keep hoping that someone on Valve or a good modder is watching this series or reading the manga...

If there is a L4D2 mod, even if it's just the skins and a few voice recordings... I'd be all over it. Better yet if there was a whole campaign.

As it is, I feel obliged to play L4D2 after watching an episode.
