Serously, why the hell would I ever watch this:

Way to take that scene so horribly out-of-context.

Gee, thinking a man is gay for liking a cartoon show about ponies aimed at prepubescent girls. SHOCKING.
As a matter of fact, this was never the intention in the first place. The point was to make it a legitimate family show. Just because things started out with plastic girl toys, doesn't mean the show was actually pitched in this direction. Plenty of things change dramatically in this way. Just look at Batman, for instance.

I have not watched MLP, the little I have seen from youtube has been horrible, characters are obnoxious little...kids essentially, can't stand it. But if anyone thinks it's good, go with it. I can understand those who have not been desensitized to the whole MLP thing to think that someone is gay too.
Have you been watching redubs or something? Because, the characters in the show itself are actually rather mature.
I hope more shows try to follow in
Friendship is Magic's... hoofsteps. Just because a show is meant to be appropriate to a very young demographic, doesn't mean you can't churn in the extra quality that might attract older audiences. You can still have it well-written and everything. It's certainly worth the effort.
It needs to happen. More people should see this. I was just watching the premiere of
Avatar: The Legend of Korra and it was brilliant! It's, like... TV-Y7. And it was brilliant. As far as I'm concerned, it just censors some of the violence. What I don't get is why is so acceptable to play E-rated videogames, while you may be considered an outcast for watching something made for the same demographic? Similarly, why are people torn down for wearing pony shirts, while it's perfectly acceptable to wear Elmo shirts?
After reading how and why Lauren Faust took the job to create
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, it made me think about how I had the exact same issue with Pound Puppies as she had with My Little Pony. I've taken some rather advanced media classes and have made several videos. I could possibly see myself working in a
Pound Puppies television show, trying to follow the example and standards that Lauren Faust set before us, as shown in
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
