Seriously? She was part of artwork dating back to the 19th Century. I may be a science major instead of a history major, but I beleive the 19th Century came before WWII.
These things have been known to be faked when it was convienent.

He really was remarkable. I mean, the man received a letter from a cavalryman complaining about having to ride 10 miles each day, and at 65 he went out and rode 100 miles in one day. No one else is allowed to complain. Ever. About anything.

Here's one: http://www.unexplainable.net/artman/publish/article_6562.shtml
Um... all that site talks about is the fact that some remains that were purported to be hers really weren't hers, which isn't all that unusual. There are many claims made about the remains of various Saints because it's "serious business" for The Church. These claims are routinely investigated and often found to be false for whatever reason; either accidental identification, overzealous attribution, our outright hoax. This doesn't really have anything to do with her actual existence as an historic figure.

But whatever. I'm too paranoid now that I'm simply being trolled, and would rather talk to the rest of the fine folks in this thread :)

Godwin's law, definetly Hitler. I'd be intereested in finding out why he was so fixated on destroying the jews. Was the church very vocal about their anti-semetism or was it something else? Credit must be given for his ability to bring Germany out of their recession.
Antisemitism was not new to Europe or unique to Hitler. In the 10s and 20s he basically "bought in" to a pre-existing and long-lived radical antisemitic conspiracy theory. No one knows quite sure why, but then again, why does anyone start believing that sort of stuff, past or present? He started elaborating on it in Mein Kampf, and eventually used it as plank in his platform of fear and blame-shifting while rallying the German people around nationalistic sentiment.

I think that England's constitutional monarchy came first.(At least I think it was a democracy sorry if I'm wrong)
If the people elected the Parliament, I can give you an A for knowing what I did not.

If they did not, I must ask, how is a monarchy in any way a democracy?
People who had landwealth more than ooo £100 (thats imperial pounds) could vote for the house of commons in parliament, the house of lords weren't elected. However ironically enough the long parliament sat for about 11 years and never called an election and under Cromwell and the army less people could vote and if they didn't get what they wanted they would either a) throw out parliament and put someone in they wanted. Rump parliament and barebones parliament or b) stick in a good old military regime such as the major generals.

One of the most interesting historical facts about Joan of Arc was that she was tried and executed for wearing men's clothing. Not for claiming to speak with angels and receiving God's direction, nor for leading the French army against the English, but simply because she dressed in men's clothing and armor, and styled her hair as a man would.
